  1. Electrical Smell under hood, strong by fuse box.

Reviving this old one. I just got the same smell. Coming around the fuse box. Don't matter speed or style driving. It just takes time. At least 15-20 minutes of vehicle being on and driven. It's very faint but it's definitely there and you can definitely smell it. I'm at 16000 miles. I just got...
  2. Colorado octane

A lot of misinformation. Currently the only reason why in this day and age you would still have (R+M)/2- 85 octane is price. 40 years ago when cars(mostly American) had little to no way of proper controlling ignition and oxygen levels into the engine lower octane would have made sense in a way...
  3. Manual transmission scraping noise / grinding sound

Ford has always been a cheap company. Literally from Henry Ford himself if you know his story. So even if it saves them $1 they would rather try to rebuild it. That's also where the other problem comes. Again Ford- a cheap vehicle. Some people paying upwards of 60-70 grand and expecting a 60 or...
  4. Manual transmission scraping noise / grinding sound

I've skimmed everything that I missed these couple of months. So here is my take on this. There is still no evidence of actual functional issues other than the inconvenient noise. Since Getrag transmissions have been very well known for that and the fact that unless you get you transmission...
  5. Underbody aluminum skidplates and protection by ASFIR 4x4

Is there a hardware kit that can be purchased separately? Or at least the washers. They seem proprietary and my kit came in with the wrong bolt and washer kit for the transfer case skid. In the instructional videos the transfer case skid is only installed stand alone and has a narrow bolt...
  6. Underbody aluminum skidplates and protection by ASFIR 4x4

Again it's not that simple. It really depends on the situation and material used. There is some pretty strong aluminum out there and some pretty shitty steel out there. Fatigue is also a consideration. Over time, like I said in my case with salt, rust might weaken steel that aluminum is not that...
  7. Underbody aluminum skidplates and protection by ASFIR 4x4

Already did. You look to have a very nice product. Keep up the good work. I mean I will confirm when it gets here, but... :) Extra question. Do you, or anyone that has already gotten their product know if there will be an import DUTY on these products from Israel? I'm not sure what the...
  8. Underbody aluminum skidplates and protection by ASFIR 4x4

Aluminum is soft. That doesn't mean that it's not strong. It will probably take big impacts and hits even better than steel, but if you are planning on jacking up the whole vehicle on said aluminum plate... Yeah it will probably buckle compared to steel. It just depends, at the end of the day...
  9. Underbody aluminum skidplates and protection by ASFIR 4x4

Sorry if this was already covered, but I couldn't find info. Fuel tank plate is listed as AUTO trans only. I might not be aware, but I don't think the fuel tank is different between AUTO and Manual transmission, but I might be missing something. I have a 21 Big Bend Manual 4 door. Will the...
  10. Anyone keeping their Bronco completely stock? No mods at all?

I doubt anyone has it completely stock. :)
  11. ELD Swap: My Journey to E-Locker Heaven -- Installation on Base Bronco (DIY + Photos)

This thing was a $700 option on the Big Bend... Dealer of Ford screwed me over and never actually made it onto my vehicle even tho I requested it and spec it out. If it was a different situation I would have denied it and have them build me one the way I wanted it, but... Anyway. Good to know...
  12. Taking Bronco Offline - disconnecting cellular / telematics connectivity (Technical Discussion, Please)

I never got to opening the panel, but I saw that 20 and 19 are shared. And 19 is ignition and I was wondering how that works. Now I know. Thanks. Any annoying messages about it?
  13. Manual transmission scraping noise / grinding sound

I wouldn't count on these guys to notice it. Maybe they don't have it as an issue, but reading the article... They seem spot on in regard to one or two things, but pretty off on pretty much everything else. Automotive journalists are not usually very mechanically inclined either.
  14. Manual transmission scraping noise / grinding sound

OK. Plan B then... Does anyone know how much does a new transmission cost? Pricing for regular Joe. Or some people here mentioned they worked at a dealership. Possibly get us one without the dealer markup- or at least a somewhat reasonable one.
  15. Manual transmission scraping noise / grinding sound

Will the "backcharge" be the amount for the new transmission?
  16. Manual transmission scraping noise / grinding sound

I have another idea... What are the chances the dealer lets me keep the old transmission if they replace it? Because chances are we are not going to get any confirmation or answer from Ford or Getrag about the issue. My idea is to replace mine, which would probably have the same issue, but I...
  17. Manual transmission scraping noise / grinding sound

I refuse to bring my car to a dealership. I will be the one that will test transmission till the end. See if any of this noise actually damages anything. I got 8200 miles so far. I will do some more transmission exploring summer time when I can drive my other car. Just so you know I will be the...
  18. AlphaREX just released their new NOVA-Series LED Projector Headlights!! Check it out!!

Has anyone ordered these? Any reviews? Site still says mid-December and still no actual availability in stock.
  19. Morimoto XRGB Headlights | IN STOCK

These two postings contradict themselves. How do you have "tons" of them, "multiple pallets", "enough for EVERYBODY" and at the same time you don't hold stock? How do you do your orders if you only order what people ordered? And if you ordered more than what you need... that's kinda the...
