I would be willing to bet that those bumpers are a <$10 part that could be ordered new if you ever needed to go back to a narrower tire. Alternately, I cut mine down with a small saw and the cut was pretty clean. I probably could have saved the part I cut off and reglued it if I had plans to...
I have a set that I want to get rid of. Located in Oklahoma, US though so the freight and GST might be too much. If you want, DM me your city, province, and postal code and I'll weigh these and find out what it would be!
You may have a similar issue. I trimmed almost 1/2” from the bumper stops in order to get the +35 offset to fit. If I had it to do over, I think I’d go with a 0 offset. Bear in mind, offset and backspacing confuse the heck out of me so I may be wrong.
After working on it today, I’m thinking they aren’t long enough to use spacers. Before trimming the bumper stops, I rested the tire on the camera stem and pushed it as far back as I could. The studs didn’t have enough length to bolt onto.
Man, I picked a lousy time to post this - my Bronco isn't even here right now. I'm getting the front windows tinted at the moment. I'll check it when I get it back, but I would almost swear that my rubber stops felt very malleable, almost like they are injection molded, or whatever you call it...
Interesting, Binky... And just confirming, yours are the +35 offset, with the stock Goodyear 315-70R/17s? Maybe those dudes at 4WP just didn't try hard enough. I'm going to go get my spare today and check it myself.
Yep, I'm Sasquatch. If I had it to do over again, I would definitely do the 0 offset. I think yours will fit great on the carrier and will give it a slightly more aggressive stance to the ones on the ground.
That's great to know - I might just give that a try this weekend before the bracket comes in. I wasn't sure how much "meat" was behind those rubber spacers so I didn't want to go carving into it. Thanks for the info!
That seems like the easiest option, and is also their plan currently with the Rough Country Spare relocation bracket - it will push the carrier out enough for the tire to fit. I'm just bummed that it's also going to raise it 2" which will further impede my already limited rear view. ;)
Hello friends! I finally bit the bullet and got a set of bronze Method 703s (MRWMR70378560935) for my OBX Squatch. They really look great and I'm well pleased with them so far, but the spare won't go back on the carrier due to the offset change. When speaking with a really nice rep from...
I got the email today as well - photo link didn't work. I did a quick site scan on OneMagnify.com and from there figured out what is "probably" the correct URL. Replace "https://cpwdassetapi.prod01.apps.pcfonemagnify.com" with "https://assetapi.onemagnify.com" - leave everything else in the...
Got something fun and new to gripe about... My Bronco is "stuck" on a rail car in Illinois - it was heading to Tulsa, OK. I got the shipped notification on 9/6, and received my rail car number from the dealer yesterday. The CSX phone tracker system says something to the effect of "the car was...
CONFIRMED from my dealer - DORA shows the hard top prep kit. I converted the day they announced that option and at the time my DORA did not have any reference to the prep kit. Looks like it was automatically added. Hope all my other 8/30 friends have the same result!
For what it's worth, my build had almost ALL the deadly sins - MIC top, Squatch, 2.7L, Lux, Towing, but I got an email today for an 8/30 build week and the only thing I gave up was the MIC top. 7/14 reservation holder, ID 10152034, 4-Door OBX. All that to say... the hardtop shutdown, as awful...
I'd love to know too - I just got my email for an 8/30 production. I left a VM for my dealer to see if he can confirm whether or not the hard top prep kit will make it into the 8/30 week orders. If I get news, I'll report back!
I made the switch to the soft top w/prep kit. I was never really that stoked about the MIC top. I'm absolutely in love with the white top after seeing the earlier renderings so whenever that becomes available (2023?) I'm planning on getting it - even if I had the MIC top. My "ideal" Bronco...
