Here are the pictures (way late). I was quoted $300 repair by auto upholstery shop to repair. This is includes the windows and hardware, too. Full top, just torn.
I have a Bestop Trektop top that has three holes in the farbic right at the crossbars to due a low tree. I will be posting photos later today. This top can be repaired by a convertible top/upholstery company I have been told. I am selling the top piece, all hardware, bows, three windows, etc...
That sounds clip is the same sound I'm getting. And yes, Area 51, I know it's all cheap stuff. I replaced the 5 stock speakers and was shocked at how cheap they were.
When you pulled the speaker (sub) from the housing (stock enclosure) you said it was still making that clap sound? In other...
I know this is a long shot, but my Bestop Trektop top was damaged by a falling branch and is beyond patching i think. The price of just the fabric from Bestop is almost the same as a completely new top with all new hardware. If anyone is getting rid of just the top piece for whatever reason...
I might be experiencing the same thing. No rattles, but when certain frequencies hit, the sub sounds like it is hitting something. i.e. bottoming out. I figured either that or something is loose and only moves when the bass really kicks. I havent torn apart the panel to look yet. I just...
Is this fix holding up or is this clunk just something we have to live with?
In other words, is replacing the drive shaft seemingly solving this or does it end up coming back again eventually once the new part wears a bit and really should be considered "normal?"
Did anyone ever find an official fix for this? It seems to stop for a bit for me after going from 4WD (either 4L or 4A) back to 2H. After some quick/hard breaking it feels like being rear-ended when it releases.
Hey there. Thanks for reaching out. I might be if the price is right. They're not heavy, but might not be worth it to ship. How much are you asking for them without shipping?
I did this a few days ago. I do think this adds the bass to the rear speakers, yes. Much better fill and sounds like a regular vehicle now. I have replaced these with 4" Hertz, so I am not sure what impact this would have on the stock speakers. I am going to keep it as above (with the "2" in...
Thanks for the info. I'm trying keep this as simple as I can. I would be satisfied if the sub was scaling with the music and not clapping. Maybe something is loose, but it's weird how one click on the volume seems to quite it versus having to turn the bass all the way down on the EQ.
I've been looking for this exact info, but I need a point in the right direction. It seems you found how to adjust the amp settings that B&O/Ford set.
Some background first: I've replaced the 4" speakers with kickers in the front corners, a midrange in the center, and focal 100s in the rear...
Hey there. I am interested in your top, I think. So this is a used top with new fabric parts? All peices needed to install are there? What part of northern IN?
