How did this all shake out. I want to remove backseat netting altogether and maybe just do molle storage bag. Netting is garbage and I already had netting tear on side door. Replaced with aluminum molle sleeve.

I have the P2 swinging to passenger side. Works great, and as noted above, I have clearance with my bike. Only thing that would give me pause is if I were rolling on larger/beefer tires and a larger spare may touch bike with swing gate and rack fully open. Also, not sure I want rack and swing...

UPDATE: After waiting over two weeks I had to try another dealer's collison center. First dealer's collision group took pics and told me collision manager would need to review and approve once he was back from vacation. After three follow-up calls, I was told dealer was not filing any warranty...

I do not envy Ford's position. I believe they the had good intentions with the modular design, with the goal of making it easier to remove/configure in pieces. Removing front and mid panels is a breeze, and front two panels are off and bagged in minutes. I wish Ford would have included a storage...

I hear all of you, and agree. I did just notice some very "micro" cracks in same panel, but I have read on other threads that after market paint job is labor intensive, hard to protect and can easily chip on contact edges unless protectant film is applied.
