Tire noise lol.. the Bronco is not quite in the slightest. The hard top is not insulated and a roof rack will make wind noise real bad. MPG is also terrible, it's a brick. Build quality is good, but not perfect (door alignment is iffy and the hardtop is cheap). Easy to drive, goes straight, and...
update:
still no grinding, but.. when I went to change the oil I noticed something odd. is there a missing transmission bolt in this photo? looks like the tech might have missed a bolt.. but i’m not sure. can someone confirm for me?
Update: Had revision D synchros put into my 22 last summer. So far so good this winter, sub freezing temps and no grinding after a thousand miles. Shifts just as good as before.
Hello all, I’m debating on whether this tune is right for me, and need help deciding.
My biggest complaint with the stock 2.3 manual, is that it is constantly in turbo boost.. it really struggles to maintain speed on the highway. Even 4th struggles at 70mph going over my local pass at...
I had a few laughs, but overall, not a very helpful review.
The Bronco drives WAY better than he was letting on, better than most competition. He went on and on about how wide it is. Yes, the material choices aren’t all great, and there’s some design/manufacturing kinks which are pretty...
Got to admit, that does sound pretty nice.. but I simply wouldn't trust the complexity and long-term reliability. Such a small powerful battery can't possible last long (the brightest candles usually burns the fastest).
Hybrid on such a heavy rig, seems pointless to me. I wish Ford would distinguish itself from Jeep’s ideas. So far the Bronco is mostly an improved on-road Jeep with IFS.
Things that would have distinguished the Bronco: a real tailgate, better mpg, big towing numbers, v8, remote locking interior...
I don’t think any 2-door lifts exist yet. I built a garage hoist. Amazon sells an electric hoist for 70$. The balance point is not difficult to find and lifts off easy. Use foam pool noodles to protect hardtop.
Same no noise yet, after repair. But it was rarely noticeable in summer, and very noticeable in winter. Was tough to shift into 1st after getting it back from repair, but it worked itself out after a few miles and feels good now.
Ya, that part is a tight fit. But it wasn’t too bad on mine. I used a rubber mallet to tap the tubes together. Maybe try sanding the paint off the inside lip of the outer tube?
Today I removed the rack to take the hardtop off for summer. It went smooth, only a few easy bolts and lift off. The...
Ticking noise from engine, then check your oil levels, and if oil is too dirty. Valves/timing adjustment would be the usual diagnosis for ticking, but not likely for a new car. Otherwise, most modern vehicles need time to warm up properly, to let the metals expand into optimal spec ranges. It’s...
Just got my Bronco back from dealer performing TSB synchro update (revision D). Initial impressions, clutch/shifting feels exactly the same as before (which was nice), except it’s just a little harder to push into 1st now for some reason. Might need a few days to break-in or worst case go back...
Ford choose wrong (cheap) suppliers for their parts. This is why there are so many delays. They should have built parts in-house or picked better suppliers/designs. Other manufacturers are not having these issues. That and having too many trims/models/versions..
