Does the emphasized part of the quote above mean that Ford is pushing back on dealers hogging all the reservations by offering bulk pricing? In other words, could each dealer be limited to X number of vehicles per month?
I've not seen a post-LR3 Land Rover on the side of the road broken down ever. Usually it's annoying stuff that take you back to the dealer but doesn't leave you stranded.
As far as depreciation, that's exactly why no sane LR purchase is done on anything but a lease.
The air suspension is...
Jeeps numbers keep going down on the manual because it's a problematic, half-assed attempt at a manual. I don't know how tough or reliable Ford's manual will be, but at least the Bronco manual actually gives an extra incentive: the crawl gear. Pretty much took Jeep to the woodshed with that one.
Hopefully they don't lock me into Navy Pier for the FE. If they do, I'll have to decide whether turn over the FE to the dealer or change my order a super-basic Bronco with the 6-speed and add it as a third vehicle to the household. But no way I'm paying +$60K for something with that interior.
Well, if they don’t offer another interior on the FE, I don’t think they’ll need all 7,000 — maybe 7.
Guess I’ll figure out how to live with the diesel JL Rubicon I just picked up instead — sarge green with tan seats. Maybe my Ford dealer will pay me to walk away from my FE reservation after...
Think I’m definitely getting a 2” lift at purchase but leaving the 35” tires. These Sasquatch vehicles are looking like a Land Rover with the air suspension in mall-mode.
Hah. Some JL owners are pretty angry at FCA over steering issues, bad frame welds, electrical gremlins, etc. I've owned several JKs and never had any serious issues; but, I didn't jump into the JK until 2011 when they were a few years into the new model. By the time I bought my last one in 2018...
I wrote on JL forum over a month ago that FCA needs to do their 10-year redesign NOW. Problem is, it takes Jeep all 10 of those years to get all the issues worked out.
Hard top and soft top both need the gate opened and swung out of the way – pretty much a given with a rear tire mounted there. Once the gate is open, the hard top glass just swings up. Soft top rear window is a pain to open, at least on the Wrangler – unclipping, unzipping, pulling, rolling up...
Why I'll have a hard top:
Hard top on the 4-door comes off easily anyway (Wrangler 4-door rear section was always a PITA and super heavy).
Reduced noise on the highway
Reduced possibility of water leaks
Reduced possibility of wind leaks/whistling noises
Reduced possibility of theft...
Yup – The red interior of the 10th anniversary Anvil-colored Wranglers was a nice option. Bluedeath interior with Area 51 is doing to look like, well – death.
