I did a repair using aluminum flat stock that has held up really well and feels stronger than the original bracket. The finished repair looks fine to me and really unnoticeable unless you really compare both sides.
I'm considering installing a vinyl hood overlay decal and wondering if there are any issues with longer term paint fade issues or any other discoloration problems. I recall problems with removed pinstripes on 70s and 80s vehicles I owned.
Also, any recommendations on specific vinyl decal...
I used 2 inch 90deg. steel angle that was 1/4 inch thick that I had laying around...…I ended up milling off approx. 1/6" thickness on the flat to let it slide into the roof rack gaps without interference.
If I was to do it again, I would start with 3/16" 2 inch angle to simplify the project...
Believe it or not, the rear roof rack slots are the perfect balance points....the top lifts straight and flat. It's also nice to have one attach point so I can rotate the top from storage to installation.
The only panel I store on the top is the center panel that doesn't weigh much...I don't...
I opted to install Icon High Clearance crash bars on my factory Sasquatch. These are really easy to install and do have plenty of clearance for the 35s. You would need to purchase bolts if you currently don't have crash bars installed. I assume you already have the mounting bolts so not...
I would think there would be too much flex with threaded rod unless its really heavy gauge.
Also, if there is too much flex on the rod, the end brackets may flex the slots in the hard top causing potential damage....at which point, the Unistrut makes more sense.
I duplicated an idea from this post and it worked out terrific. The sliding hoist makes it simple to remove and store my hardtop away from the car. I have a soft top for summer season so this is a semi-permanent storage solution.
I think that the cross brace/support would work great for...
Thanks Flip! DM sent.
I think its the strap putting too much pressure on this....there seems to be limited options to adjust this as moving the rear latch brackets up puts daylight under the weatherstrip and I lose the seal above the rear quarter panel and the straps aren't adjustable without...
Wondering if anyone has seen this before....
I have a 2023 version (v2?)of the soft top....I noticed that rear window was a bit warped. Once I removed the windows, the bow separated/split at the driver side corner.
Looks like the aluminum corner bracket cracked at the point where it meets the...
Selling lightly used Oracle triple fog lights in Yellow...Oracle part # 5890-006 - Yellow. These were installed using the upfitter auxiliary switches but include all harness parts to allow for relay and switch. The harness will need to be spliced to operate as standalone if preferred. These...
Haven’t done it yet. Decided to hold off given questions re: warranty after installation.
Car only has 3000 miles on it now and I decided to wait until I have more confidence that no ongoing concerns.
For sale is a full set (5) of SAS silver beauty rings....great for a custom paint project or as a OE replacement. $400 OBO...can ship if required or local pickup in Fairfield County CT.
McMahon Ford in Norwalk was unaware/unable to do the tune install...they were also unclear on the warrantee question so I left it there.
It's good to know that Stamford can do it.....please let me know once you have it done and if you bring your own tune box so I may follow suit.
That's great advice on the licensing.....Glastonbury is not too bad a drive form me so it's a good option/recommendation.
Has anyone re-installed the original tune? Why would one need to revert after dealer install? I assume this will only make things more convoluted as the re-install would...
I'm interested in installing the tune on my Bronco but very interested in keeping warrantee on the car....I've contacted my local ford dealer and they are unfamiliar with the tune and aren't able/willing to install the tune for me.....
I understand the process is very straightforward and I'm...
