On the plus side, it totally clears the tire without the extension piece. But, I don't think that is even speed bump capable, let alone off-road capable. Weld on a couple blades and it may work for tilling the garden. (trying to find the positive here).
Thanks for giving it a shot and...
100% agreed. A drop down works great for a fishing trip, family adventure, or whatever locally around here (Houston if very very flat). If I could find a place to go actual off-roading and needed the extra space, I would consider something higher (roof rack) or maybe a tailgate one, but I...
Interesting.... My guess is you have to have a "business" account. The alternative would be to sell it on etsy, facebook marketplace, eBay, etc and just link to it when it comes up in conversation. I think that would fly since people (including myself) link to products all the time.... like...
I was thinking about trying that carrier, but assembling it upside down.... so it drops down instead of up. I have a large carrier that I can use.... and when I do, I use a hitch drop down thing so the 35" clears.
You ever see a product, and you don't know what you would do with it.... but you know it would be pretty kick ass once you figured out a solution?
That's me looking at that adapter plate. I wouldn't use it for a bike rack... (I don't ride) but with how beefy it looks, I'm thinking some sort...
I emailed Heretic, they will sell the mount separately from their light (but said they wouldn't guarantee a fit with another light.) I never got to a price because I added the spartan bar instead... but just an FYI for anyone interested. [email protected]
Side note, I've seen a couple...
I used a pre-packaged diode thing I found on Amazon. I like that it uses spade connectors (at the moment), so if I decide to remove one of the inputs (switch or reverse signal), I can just pull the connector off the diode thing. When I routed my wires, I bundled it up just behind that...
I looked at those. I also considered "Tuner" nuts with removable spikes (because they are already threaded) Spike Nuts
End result (which is working for me and didn't break the bank)
I wasn't ready to cut into my bumper and not ready to spend too much when I wasn't sure exactly where to place the lights. I started with a license plate relocation bracket ($24 Amazon) Plate Relocation Bracket because it came with the stand-off lug nuts (which I can't find anywhere as a...
I didn't want anything bolted to my bumper.... so I used two 100lb magnets bolted to the top holes of the license plate and a couple zip ties to make sure it didn't slide around. I used a 2" round sticker pad thing (no idea where that came from, but it was in my garage and the right size) on...
Random question.... Can it be mounted upside-down? I'm wondering if it could be dual purpose.... mount fishing rod holders on the horizontal bars. With it upside-down, that might drop the poles low enough so your not hitting every tree branch when going out on a fishing trip. Flip it the...
@c-dubb , How is the hoist connected to the roof panels, how is the middle panel supported?
Side question, how tall is your garage? Looks like you have 2 or 3 feet of clearance between the roof of your bronco and the top of the garage door opening.
I'm not set on the location... and I was half joking about a snorkel kit. I'm also torn between the advantages of a built-in system versus a portable something.
Cool looking piece, but hard for me to justify the cost when I already own a box of ram stuff from other projects and I'm not sure where I want a phone mounted permanently.
I did an extension off of the mount on the top of the dash. That put my phone in a great location, but the long boom...
So then who makes an air compressor with a snorkel kit?
Excellent point Razorbak86. The location might be good for an auxiliary air tank.... but the compressor should be higher up.
