FWIW, I wouldn't put too much stock in a poll like that--responses are always gonna be biased towards people with the issue. (And I say this who someone in that 70%.) But your point stands, it's obviously very common and that's a huge problem.
I don't think anyone is disputing that--of course no drive system is going to help you stop. But I think @swamp2's point is that 4WD can give you additional steering control in certain circumstances, e.g., limiting fishtailing.
It depends on the sand, to be honest. There are certainly beaches here in Washington with damp, hard-packed sand where it's definitely not necessary, especially if you're just driving a couple hundred feet out onto the beach to set up your beach chairs or whatever.
But if the sand was soft at...
Agree with many of your points, but the "current actual inflation rate" is definitely not in the middle teens. It's true that real wages have been pretty flat for years (and even declined a bit in 2022, though they've largely rebounded this year), and people don't talk about that enough, but...
Interesting stuff, thanks for sharing.
When you found the plastic fork and mountain house and kept digging, I was worried that was going to be a cathole...
On most FSRs you definitely don't *need* to air down, but it does smooth out the ride a bit and reduces the risk of sliding, etc. I highly recommend it, but I wouldn't discourage anyone from driving FSRs just because they don't have a compressor or whatever.
Nice, I'll go:
I like auto-stop start ("ASS") and actually prefer having it on
You don't need 4 sets of after market lights + a light bar. How much late-night wheeling are you really doing anyway?
Approximately 95% of "aesthetic" mods make your vehicle uglier, some dramatically so. In...
What level of trails are you looking for? You could head to Middle Fork Snoqualmie for some pretty easy stuff, or there are some good ones near Index/Skykomish (Tonga Ridge, perhaps? I imagine that's pretty much snow-free by now). There are also a lot of options off Mountain Loop Highway.
I did it solo in Vegas just a couple of weeks ago. I was surprised that so few people were solo (I think it was like 3 out of ~15-18 cars), but I ultimately thought being solo gave me a better experience (not to mention it probably saved me nearly ~$1000 between the guest fee, extra flight...
I'm headed to Nevada Off-Roadeo on 5/6. Anyone have an idea of what the breakdown of vehicle options looks like (e.g., is it mostly SAS or non-SAS? Mostly Badlands or do the trims run the gamut)? In particular, what does the Manual availability look like?
Finally nabbed my Bronco, got one of three you mentioned. Would have loved to get some of the higher packages, but in any case I was thrilled to get the Manual Badlands I'd been looking for off the lot at below MSRP.
