You can definitely run the standard flares, but you will be poking a lot. keep in mind he has a First Edition with Sas package and wider flares. You could try and make it out of delrin, or aluminum if your lathe can handle that. I wouldn't think delrin would last long since the threads would also be delrin though. But it would work as a prototype. The stock knob wouldnt be used, so you could just put it back on if making one didnt work.

I think this would still be possible to make on a lathe. You could have a stud in the middle of a hole machined to slip tightly over the shaft, and then machine a ring around that hole for the reverse lockout collar to slide into. If that makes sense? I am visualizing it working.
