There's a campground at Gunstock, where the Off-Roadeo is held that I've heard good reviews on. https://www.camplife.com/1385/reservation/step1
Since you are technically just before Motorcycle Week there may be some availability.
You are correct, that there is now a program for non-owners, however it is not the same as the regular Bronco Off-Roadeo program.
The non-owners program is basically a half day compared to the normal Off-Roadeo program. This may be exactly what someone is looking for, but if you have done the...
Before you show up to the Off-Roadeo event contact your current insurance company. Call them. Explain to them what you are doing and ask them what coverage you have.
In addition to that contact the credit card company that you book the event with. Call them. Ask what kind of coverage they...
I don't have the contact information for Guest Services in Moab, but I shared this with someone who does and she said she would forward the link to them.
Hey Mike.
Clearly I didn't do a good job explaining what happened in this situation. I can only apologize for that.
I'm reasonably sure that the situation you are talking about was the "2nd set" of slabs going up Cobble Crown. Probably in the afternoon. There was a "long" slab that was uphill...
Yeah, we don't care about cameras at all.
As long as you don't need to put a hole in the vehicle to mount it, it's all good.
I've seen people, as Mike mentions, clamp them to things, suction cup them to things, use the 1/4 20 mount in the console, bolt them to trail sights, suction cup them to...
I can confirm.
You aren't allowed to drive your own vehicle at an Off-Roadeo Event.
The vehicle that you drive may not be the same model as the one that you own.
Each location has a limited number of vehicles, in a limited number of configurations.
Motorcycle week this year is June 8-16.
There's a lot of activities centered around Laconia, which is pretty close to Gilford and you can certainly expect increased traffic and it will be harder to get lodging.
Looks like this year opening date will be May 17.

Yeah, you'll need to use the VIN to register.
As you are signing up it will prompt you for your VIN to verify that it hasn't already been used.
Enjoy both your new Bronco and your trip to Off-Roadeo.
Personally I would prefer any day that isn't a Sunday.
Everything about the other days just flows better.
There are some additional variables that come in to play, especially on Sunday, but I would have a strong preference for not attending on Sunday.
Last year opening date was May 19th. I'd expect something similar this year. I haven't heard an official starting date for this year.
Usually they don't open up reservations until a couple months before the actual dates, so as others have said March timeframe is reasonable.
At BOR NH they teach switching steps 2 and 3, but either way works.
Making sure that the parking brake is set, and taking load off the parking pawl is accomplished either way.
In the category of being technically correct, you actually can shift from neutral to park without putting your foot...
Thank you Kirk. The kind words are much appreciated.
If people come in with a good attitude, are open to learning, and are willing to accept the fact that we may not be able to match them with a copy of their exact vehicle, people generally have a great day.
I agree, the manual vs auto...
You are not allowed to take your own vehicle out.
That's not even a choice. You'll drive one of their vehicles. There are no manuals available in NH, only automatics. Most vehicles in NH are 4 doors, but there are a few 2 doors. Most vehicles are Badlands, but there are a few Wildtracks and a...
Assuming that it's raining reasonably hard, the rain will wash the leaves (and dirt) off the steep parts, which in general will improve traction.
The wet leaves might make the flat sections a little slippier, but as long as you're going slow that will be fine.
Please do bring rain gear.
Yes...
It's a hard question to answer in a straight forward way. Trail ratings are extremely subjective.
If you are talking about what most "stock vehicles" can do the Gunstock trails are at least moderate.
If you are talking about what purpose built off road vehicles can do, they are probably...
Hey Kirk! It was a pleasure having you all and nice to talk about Oklahoma things.
We really hope you all enjoyed your day.
The other guy helping out that day was Chandler.
