My bad wrt my 4 vs 2 speakers comment. Top of post details the three stages. I did stage 2 last year so was just concentrating on the 2 corner speakers on the dash. Just needed to scroll up half a page.
Regarding the Hertz speakers, I'd still add the minor work required to get the these...
OP - Thanks for this write up. I, and clearly others, were looking for just this type of information.
I did purchase the Hertz speakers for the front dash and just received the Metra hardness. Went to install and (and you know what I'm about to write) found that the Hertz speakers have the...
Your description/questions on how the EZ 4x4 product works are correct.
Regarding creating your own version of the EZ product, could be fun/interesting to come up with something.
I think one of the keys is to make sure the door and body side hinge mating is not changed.
My solution is just...
Just tested EZ pins. It works as advertised but I'll be returning since it doesn't really act as an elongated guide pin.
The exposed portion of the Ford pin is ~10/16. EZ pin is ~13/16. I don't think the additional 3/16 is going to help me much when struggling to align the front doors...
Yes, the EZ 4x4 pins are expensive. Last October they were $70 but I didn't buy because, (a) I don't put the doors on/off enough to justify and (2) I had a working solution w/ the pin I made.
But then ... and I blame the forum for this, I did buy a few days ago (now $80) because I bought all...
Right after I created that longer guide pin I found a thread that mentioned this new product that came out Oct/2023.

(Listing again just in case you missed it in the earlier posts.)
The black wrap is just electrical tape. The top piece is a rubber grommet that I had lying around the work area so I added it thinking it may be easier to grasp. None of the wrap is really necessary, I was just bored.
I created this last September after installing the doors (and failing...
OK. I did think that you were concerned that this product *wouldn't* make the clicking sound when not properly installed.
I feel even more confident in guessing that the clicking will not be there when tightened. Otherwise, everyone would return, at least I will. I should have them in a few...
I don't know but I'll guess yes.
Looking at the product picture that has the five numbered nested pictures, number 1 is a reminder of what the door hinge side looks like and picture 3 shows the door on the hinge. The threaded guide pin is in place but it looks to me that it isn't contacting...
Problem for me is that the Ford alignment pin is too short.
Single person install, I come in at a slight angle to get the lower hinge over the guide pin with little problem but then when I lift just a bit to get the upper hinge in place the lower hinge comes off the guide pin. Creating a longer...
Looking forward to read how others feel the door install process is improved by using this product.
Having the guide pins in place at all times is nice but I think this is solving a bigger issue for those of us that struggle w/ the door installation.
Last fall after installing my doors for the...
Looking forward to read how the door install process is improved by using this product.
Last fall after installing my doors for the winter (and failing multiple times during the install) it dawned on me that the problem is that the guide pin is too short.
Single person install, I come in at a...
