I have a 2002 Mazda Miata I commute in and take my 4 year old to daycare in every day. I long ago decided I don't care what others think about my choices.
I don't think anyone is copying anyone else. For years Ford offered track days for Mustang and Focus/Fiesta ST owners, Raptor owners got their own off road academy, as has been stated Jeep's been doing this off and on for years.
I'm looking at another car in probably 2 years and the two my wife and I are looking at the closest are the Bronco and the Tesla Model 3 Long Range and we keep flipping back and forth over which one we prefer.
My experience with optional hard tops is with sports cars and those usually start about $1000 new, so $1900 for a larger, and more complex top doesn't seem out of line.
I'm on my third ecoboost. I had a MKT that I got rid of after 150,000 miles (and still in my family) a 2.0 in a Focus ST that I got rid of at 85,000 miles when my wife got pregnant again and 2 rear facing car seats did not work and now another 2.0 with 60,000 on it. Carbon buildup doesn't seem...
I have 3 kids, a 15 year old step daughter, a 5 and a 4 year old so a 2 door won't work for the family car we need.
I already have a two door, two seater, an 02 Miata that I've had for more than 10 years now. I pulled it out of mothball when my 5 year old started kindergarten and I only...
About 10 years ago Ford did an interesting torture test of the 3.5 when they introduced it on the F-150.

The ecoboost series is fine.
I don't understand the "reliability" arguments at all (and I question the age of those making such arguements). I''ve owned 3 EB motors all of them have been great and didn't need anything besides oil changes, the highest mileage one was at 165,000 when I sold it to my SIL and she still has...
I used to have the integrated one on my Lincoln MKT. It was nice but the stupid thing wouldn't let you lock the keys in the car, which was useless when we went to the beach.
I've had a 02 Focus ZX3, an 04 SVT Focus, a 2013 Focus ST, a 2015 Focus SE and a 2018 Focus ST and a 2013 Lincoln MKT. None of them had paint problems.
SVT doesn't exist any more. Near as I can tell it really hasn't since 2006, the last vehicle credited to them was the first gen Raptor but I don't remember seeing SVT badges on them.
I got a few sentences into the OP and just went "OK boomer" and started reading the responses.
The original Bronco cost $2194 according to Wikipedia. Using an inflation calculator that is $18,046.59, I can't think of much in that price range that I'd want to own A base 2 door costs near as...
I have a 18 year old convertible that I've owned for 10. It's never leaked until the top started to physically degrade from age and even then never from the seals. That is just plain unacceptable.
I've never wanted a Jeep (their fan club is about as annoying as HD's and Tesla's) but I'm...
