Old post, but how I wish car makers would allow us to select back heat only! No need for a sweaty bum when you have a sore back. Wish there was a way on FORscan, but figured they heaters are wired in series, so unless you wired a resistor equal to cushion heater, I do not see how.
FWIW I get...
What NO WAYYYY, 100k miles and no major issues..... People in here say Ford builds junk......
In all seriousness OP, congrats and glad to see a post of something positive vs Ford hate on build quality.
Rusty,
Install was pretty straight forward thanks to your video. Only had a couple head scratchers not addressed in the video (accessing the fuse box was the main one). Still waiting for the additional rear camera bracket so I can mount it to the glass, but it is all wired up and operational...
Thank you. This install is my morning project now that today should be a dry day. Also will need test out spots for the bumper camera before I mount it. Going try between the bumper and skid plate.
I want to get it in so I can see if I want to order a second setup for my SC (has no factory fwd...
Rusty, are you saying do not run the rear camera wire like you did in the video? Seems to me the back side of the seal should be fine for running the wire to the glass mounted rear camera.
For those who installed this mirror, what did you do with the factory harness that you unplugged from the OEM mirror? Did you tuck it in along with the WB wires out of sight, tuck it in the plastic cover, or just let it dangle?
EDIT: Just rewatched the video and see later into the video that...
This past weekend I did see where someone did exactly that, but I have zero idea where I saw it. They installed a bracket under the body and mounted it near the frame and pointed it towards the front tires. I think they said it was to align tires over obstacles. This camera was higher than...
Rusty and Phil, you both sold me on the Tripro and I just ordered it. I figure I can run without the front camera if I find it is not for us. Also if the wife does not like the camera setup, I will then install it into my 24 Santa Cruz Night.
Thank you for your honest feedback! Here in FL the sun is real, but about 8 months out of the year the tops will be on.
Did the provided rear camera cable reach the back glass or did you have to purchase the extension cable?
Rusty,
Thank you for the reply. I just need to do a little more research as to which one I want to purchase along with watching your excellent how to video again.
Couple of quick questions
1. Rear camera mount t location that you chose. Have you noticed if the rear camera mount has...
Thank you for the reply. I am torn between the Pro and Tripro. Not sure I really need the third camera (inside or out), but thinking I will always wonder "What if" if I do not go with the Tripro.
As for screen wash out, do you have the anti-glare film and did that help at all?
Also, is the...
Understand we cannot take it with us, but I would rather spend $1k+ on a vacation somewhere than REDOING PPF just so I can install $100 scripts or some other mods.
Rusty, I am looking at purchasing a WB setup, but wondering if I need the Pro Trio as my Bronco came with the fwd cam in the grill. Do not really see us doing any serious wheel'n, so mainly a pavement princess.
One thing I am concerned with is people complaining about the 900 Pro night time...
Went to a PPF shop that used same film as previous owner to get an estimate on PPF for the parts the OG did not have done, and I can say as of right now there is no way removing PPF and decal, then installing new PPF and script is even an option. Rear quarter panels were 400 a piece! Imagine...
To be honest, the only real option for me is to do absolutely nothing.
As for the happy wife crap, she just got this so she better be happy for a LONG time. Actually she if pretty frugal and I don't think she would be happy spending $500 or what ever it cost to have the PPF taken off and...
