Yeah, Canbus 12v systems are tricky. If adding a simple 4-pin electrics is a pain adding a 7-pin will be a major pain.

Yep, 7-pin capability to me is a basic thing for an offroad SUV in order to tow a small trailer with trailer brakes. The spare tire mount, I see 4Wheel Parts has a mount that raises the spare four inches so I can use a 6" rise hitch to hookup my lifted offroadable travel trailer.

Rear suspension does seem to be the culprit. Should be able to upgrade to stiffer rear coils and Timbren or SumoSpring will develop a bumpstop that absorbs the trailering needs. And upgrade to a ClassIII hitch. Bronco will need enhancement on the rear and that will somewhat limit articulation...

Yep, surprisingly high curb weight. 2021 4Runner 4WD is 4700lbs curb weight with apx 1600lb payload, 6300lb GVWR. But, the Bronco is adequate after seeing these specs, the 400lbs curb weight difference for the 4dr 2.7l compared to a 4Runner cuts deep into payload. A 4WD 4Runner is kinda sorta...

That's probably the best way to go. Aftermarket will be jumping on the Bronco as fast as they can to beef up the rear suspension and hitch.

I looked at the hitch height with the factory spare mounted - especially a 35" spare. There could be some problems with a rise hitch which I need for a lifted trailer. IIRC the hitch from the ground was apx 25 inches. Really we have to see when these get in production and can be seen at the dealer.
