Interestingly, I had the same analysis re: the non-Squatch Badlands (which had been my previous choice) and the Wildtrack. Given the pricing differences you mention, and the fact that I am now allowed to order the hard top sound insulation, I also am moving over to the Wildtrack.
EDIT: It...
I went and saw an Area 51 Sport this weekend as well. The color settings of cameras and monitors seemed to have this color all over the map. It is definitely a mid-darkness steel blue than has often been shown in pics. It is exactly as I hoped it would be and solidified my personal decision.
I have considered something similar myself...my plan to mitigate the need for extra cargo on trips is to buy a small trailer. About $1500. You will never know it is back there. I just wish that this thing had a larger towing capacity, because I would love to pull my car hauler flat bed back...
Agreed, but it should be really easy to replace them with LED tail and headlights after the purchase. That is my plan. (I do a lot of classic car restoration as a hobby so YMMV I suppose)

(Or I think perhaps you are saying you would do this to get the suspension upgrades present in #1 and #2) I just wanted to clarify because I...
Refugee from the Wildtrak here...cannot abide that interior and have become enamored with the MGV and no carpet. I really looked at all possible builds that appealed to me and it really seems that the BD is the sweet spot. Capable enough off-roader for non-enthusiasts that Squatching it isn't...
Area 51 for me. Thinking about upgrading my reservation from OBX to Wildtrak and the black top will look great.
(edit...I am in Grapevine and reserved with Grapevine Ford)
Thanks! Put a lot of hours into it. Tore everything out and replaced with all restomod high performance components. It went from a 100 hp 6 banger to an almost 400 hp 306 hot rod with a modern automatic transmission and fuel injection.
Gift for the wife, strategically given prior to then...
I sent my membership application a couple days following the Bronco announcement and just received my card today.
I am double dipping...I did it for X Plan but also just finished restoration of a 67 Mustang convertible. Win win!
