Agreed - I wouldn't be surprised if Jeep re-positions the Compass into a more direct competitor to the Bronco Sport in a couple/few years. Taller/boxier/more off-road capable, better interior, etc.
No.
I've actually been pretty impressed by what I've seen with the Sport so far. It looks like it'll be the best option in the compact crossover segment for anyone who wants more capability, ruggedness, rear headroom, etc. That said, the Bronco (both 2D and 4D) are in a different segment...
Agree to a point but again, you could say the same thing about choosing the color as well, no? If you ONLY chose based on function alone everyone in AZ would have a white vehicle but we don't begrudge anyone for choosing a color THEY enjoy while accusing them of seeking out the approval of...
Chevy Trucks and Mustangs account for 87% of all accidents. #science ?
And certainly not trying to put words in your mouth - I must've read your reply wrong. CG moving up WOULD create less stability in the curves, good point.
Completely agree - Any reason (honest question) going with the 35s would make the Bronco more dangerous to drive on the highway (or anywhere for that matter)? Doesn't seem like that would be a consideration, especially if it's coming from the factory that way. Very different from throwing 40s on...
I get both sides. Where one decides to draw the line in terms of the aesthetics of a vehicle is up to them and I could care less (ie if you care enough to pick a color YOU enjoy but you would NEVER pick a taller suspension with larger tires/different wheels, that's a bit hypocritical, no?) as...
I've been going back and forth between Squatching-out a BD (mainly for the look, TBH) and going with either the BD (if 33s are offered) or a non-squatched Badlands with the stock 33s. Came across this video today and the rational adult in me kept nodding as I watched.
Still not sure what way...
Your "fine" and my "fine" are going to be different so it depends on the level of NVH you're willing to put up with to drive a Bronco. If you do most of your driving on the highway at 80mph, you'd likely be better off going with a Grand Cherokee or something similar, as it'll be far more...
They'd have to charge a boatload more if they had made the Bronco into a "Wrangler Killer" in all aspects, putting it in a completely different segment and appealing to a different (and smaller) subset of buyer. I think they hit the sweetspot perfectly from what they've shown so far.
