I've been ordering or getting shipped from other dealers stock to get what I want as best I could since '99 Explorer. The 5 Fords involved all had one thing in common... They were pre Covid and all that goes with that.
No I'm not happy about the delays and some of the stories about late 2021...
I got the poster, the hammock, the flag and the e-mails from Ford but none of this makes me think I'm getting a Bronco any time soon unless I compromise on what I want! (I already gave up on 2.7l and Manual combo.)
Will any of this happen before some EV only mandate takes hold?
While I agree they can't just make hard tops appear out of thin air, but FORD could let us 2-door customer have a soft top option rather that letting non-reservation Broncos get built 1st!
I don't want either a 4-door or a hard top! What am I supposed to do?
So I finally got to drive a 2.7l Bronco. It felt different/stronger/more responsive to me (might be wishful thinking). The "M"anual mode gives some control back, still not a true manual, but I caved and switched to 2.7l and automatic. Did I just switch to an other restriction?
I don't begrudge FORD making some lesser MY21 for dealer stock, but if they are building Base SAS units I think that is adding to delays for Wildtrack reservations.
The bigger issue to me is, I have to wait as 2-door Badlands is impacted by MIC top, bumper, my wanting tow package... Please...
All of this debate about speculations! Nearly 300 posts in 18ish hours. If Ford would official release something official. Not a guarantied date, but some kind of reasonable projection or explanation.
I reserved 4 days in and have what seems to be no chance at all to see a MY21 in my drive way...
Every safety feature has a one off story that shows in at least one instance where it was wrong, be it seat belts, helmets, ABS, ...
That does not make a MT and a supposed expert driver better for the daily commute. Even the best driver makes mistakes, and Autonomous vehicles will too! People...
I've ordered 2dr MT Badlands High plus tow pkg and winch.
I don't want to change from 2dr man Badlands, but tow pkg, winch, color, topless and wheels can all go away. Only thing to make me happy to wait on '22MY would be knowing I can get bigger engine with MT.
Just tell me so I can drool vs...
You should all no by now... The best way to get something done on the interwebs is to tell people NOT to do it!
How else do you get a dead horse beat to death?
I would prefer the 2.7L over the 2.3L, but I chose MT over AT, and I am stuck with one engine choice. If the MY22 gets 2.7L with MT, I will be mad that I was not given info to make an informed decision!
If I knew my left knee was going to fail in advance I would choose the AT, but again I don't...
Sorry, I'm part of that problem.
84 Ranger was regular cab, but its replacement in 08 is an extended cab. I thought I wanted the little extra interior space, until I filled it like a trash can.
I don't want to do that again! I'm going 2 door manual (even though I prefer the 2.7L engine) just...
