22' 2D 2.7l with sasq. 33k miles mostly highway miles getting 19.7. I'm thinking somethings up with yours unless you let it idle a lot and lots of low speed city driving.

The 289 was available in March 66' and then discontinued in the bronco after 68'. 302 or 170 6cyl was the lineup for the 69'.

If it was a tailgate mount spare you did. The swinging spare holder didn't appear until 68'. 66 and 67 only had the inside tailgate mount or on the back of the bulk head behind the passenger seat, which was only available if you didn't have a rear seat.

That's how 67'-77' broncos that had the Sport package were badged. Otherwise they just had the Bronco Script without the red Sport square. That's not my bronco either, just a guy I know.

Yes, probably will never need to use it. I've wasted $100 on worse things though. Even my 71' bronco sold from Denver, CO came with a dealer installed block heater lol.
