  1. I designed and fabricated traction board mounts -- for Bronco roll bar

Your only option really is to drill the holes and install the nutserts to support mounting. I’ve had a few people ask about it and some have done it. My only advice, coming from them, is to use a new drill bit as the rollbar steel is very tough. Here’s a quick video that I shot for someone else.
  2. Traction Board Mounting Brackets by Pura Vida Offroad

I’ve seen a few people that were drilling through the roll bar to install the nutserts so I’d say it’s definitely doable. I’ll have to get some measurements for placement and share that. I’ll also see if I can find the forum thread where they were discussing it.
  3. I designed and fabricated traction board mounts -- for Bronco roll bar

You're mostly good to go, with some caveats posted here - https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/update-on-pvo-traction-board-brackets-for-soft-tops.66150/
  4. I designed and fabricated traction board mounts -- for Bronco roll bar

That looks great. What brand of boards are you using?
  5. I designed and fabricated traction board mounts -- for Bronco roll bar

Ahh. Thank you. You can mount the boards either on top of the bracket, or on the bottom side of the bracket. That line was referring to the ability to mount on the bottom side of the bracket. Lots of room on top. Thank you for pointing that out.

Almost every Maxtrax board and every other standard sized board is easy to put in place or remove when the hardtop is in place. The only board that I’ve seen that is a challenge is the Maxtrax extreme as it’sa few inches longer than any other board on the market. just so I can make sure my...
  7. Traction Board Mounting Brackets by Pura Vida Offroad

I don't see any specs on the spacing between mounting holes, however, they look very similar to ARB and MaxTrax so I believe they'll fit fine. Here's the specs the board mounts support - "The bracket supports board hole widths at either 4.2" or 10.63" and board hole lengths between 34" and 41""
  8. Traction Board Mounting Brackets by Pura Vida Offroad

Oh, and here's the dimensions of the platform, with the mounting slots inset about an inch from the edge of the platform.
  9. Traction Board Mounting Brackets by Pura Vida Offroad

Mine is 44 3/8" however, there could be some very slight variance based on placement of the nutserts in your roll bar. You wouldn't think so, but I think my nutserts aren't perfectly vertically aligned on one side. Either way, the brackets are designed to align flush with the inside surface of...

Wow, these are great photos. Thank you so much for taking the time to document. If I’m understanding correctly, if I move the platform forward an inch, you shouldn’t have issues lifting the rear?
  11. I designed and fabricated traction board mounts -- for Bronco roll bar

The biggest downside to that is that it would block rear visibility. I designed these to get my boards out of the way. I forget whether I even have them with me right now.
  12. I designed and fabricated traction board mounts -- for Bronco roll bar

Thank you so much for the pics and feedback. I have a new prototype being cut and bent right now that moves the platform forward (toward the driver) another inch. Will that be enough to not hit the window when raised? I'm not sure yet how that inch will affect mounting the ARB GT boards under...
  13. I designed and fabricated traction board mounts -- for Bronco roll bar

Thanks for checking that. When I designed these for my MIC hard top, I assumed that there is no way the soft top will fold all the way back, however, I wasn't sure if lifting the back would also be an issue. How far away is the window from the rear of the bracket when the soft top is fully...
  14. I designed and fabricated traction board mounts -- for Bronco roll bar

Finally connected with my neighbor that has a soft top, and when I went to install the bracket I realized that he has a June 2021 build that didn't have the available nutserts in the roll bar. Ugh. Those nutserts weren't available until later in 2021. Back to the drawing board to find another...
  15. Attic tray prototype

I'm just too excited about it so I thought I'd share an updated shot of the attic tray that's getting cut and bent as a prototype. I reduced the height from the last prototype as it was just a bit too tall. This one is 2.5" tall (10.5" deep) and allows you to mount it to the top of the Traction...
  16. I designed and fabricated traction board mounts -- for Bronco roll bar

Apologies for the delay. I've been pretty laid up being non-Covid sick and just haven't coordinated with my neighbor. I'll see if he's around, or if anyone in the Salt Lake City area has a soft top and wants to test it out, please DM me.
  17. Traction Board Mounting Brackets by Pura Vida Offroad

Dang it. Those boards you have are real boats! I’m sorry they don’t fit as intended. I’ll add a note to the site about those boards and I’ll be happy to give you a refund if you’d like to return them. I considered making the brackets wider as you stated, however, I felt that we would lose a lot...
  18. I designed and fabricated traction board mounts -- for Bronco roll bar

I do wish Tred Pro and Maxtrax boards weren’t quite so long. It’s admittedly a tight fit when the brackets are at the lowest setting. if any weekend warriors are on the fence in which boards to buy, I recommend the ARB Tred GT boards as they offer tons of flexibility in mounting options, a...

My neighbor, that I’m hoping to test fit with, was out of town all weekend so I’ll get it done this week.
