It was either here or on another automotive site but I remember seeing pictures from someone that had removed the entire interior including side panels, seat, etc. No matter where I look I have not been able to find it.
has anyone else seen this?
I can't speak for American brands, but most other brands like BMW, Benz, etc all let you order a car for lease. The whole 'buying from the lot" thing is pretty uniquely North American, everyone else orders their vehicles to spec.
Great review. I've seen multiple mentions of the noise from the roof in other reviews as well, is this a weather-stripping issue?
I'm curious as to if there are any remedies for the noise or if it will be solved by the new MIC manufacturer, as I plan on using mine on longer road trips.
As somebody that's purchased multiple new vehicles from Ford I can tell you exactly how to know what features go with what.
Step 1: Pick 4 features you want
Step 2: Decide which two of those features you want most because you aren't allowed to have all 4

Wasn't it mentioned that Ford Perf has some insane 1000's of parts for customization ready for launch?
I'm assuming it will work like BMW's M performance and be available but not part of the factory order and will be a dealer installed accessory.
"Leather-Trimmed/Vinyl Seats with Navy Pier",
"Leather-Trimmed/Vinyl Seats with Roast/Black",
"Lux Package",
Lux package AND colors that aren't just black?!
From what I've gathered in my experiences reading here, and on the Mustang forum. Ford might as well fire their R&D department and pull out all their old tooling. Anything that isn't a cloth covered wagon is technological blasphemy and will not be tolerated.
It's the nature of the beast with...
Do we have any idea/hope for a higher trim level with some leather/fake leather on the interior and dash?
If I get one of these it will be doing double duty as a DD and something fun for the weekends so it would be nice to have a semi-luxe interior option
I'd say probably the second option. The Range Rover system is wildly complex and expensive to fix. I'm they've come up with something more simplified, that behaves similarly.
I'd really like to know more about the trim levels. My fingers are crossed for a cushier leather interior option, with the soft touch pseudo leather dash just like my mustang.
But... why would you compare the OG V8 of yesteryear to the Modern EB? It's apples and oranges and I don't think anyone here saying they wanted a V8 was thinking anything other than a modern coyote...
I've been lurking for a long while. But if the painted roof options are sleek enough this thing is shaping up to be everything I wanted the Defender to be, except actually affordable.
As far as wanting a V8, maybe it's time Ford takes a page out of the Dodge book. They're ramming hellcat...
