I find that rough roads feel a lot smoother. Hitting bumps on the road is not as jarring as the stock sasquatch shocks. For a week I had Kings in the front and stock sasquatch shocks in the rear as I took two weekends to complete the install.

During that week, I felt a huge difference in ride quality. When I would hit a bump, the front would absorb impact so smooth and barely felt any jarring. Then the rear suspension would go over the same bump and the whole car would jar violently in comparison.

Now that I have Kings in the rear too, the whole ride is smooth.
Thank you so much for your insight! This is truly helpful and makes me more confident in my decision to move forward with these

I do find that the rear end when running over train track that it's quite harsh. I'm hoping to not only get better off-road performance (wheel travel and the ability to soak up bumps) but I'm looking to make my truck feel like a Cadillac on my daily commute

RTR Slider Install:

Thanks to my alignment rack, this made the install doable by myself.

The instructions are spot on and are easy to follow.

Imma be honest, I'm not sure how well these are gonna protect my truck on the trail, but we'll see. These are the pinch weld mounted type sliders.

My concerns at first glance:
1) the mounting points seem like they could get hung up on a rock.
2) If it does get hung up on a rock or if I put weight on it, will it rip the bolts out of the mounting points?
3) Can I put these up against a boulder and pivot the whole weight on it?

What I like:
-Textured finish is nice
-Tubing feels substantial and looks like it could take a good beating
-Love the design, it compliments the design language of the Bronco
-Really like the plate so it's more of a step
-The sliders can barely be called a step, but I'm happy the little bit I have goes a long way
-The mounting points to the pinch welds double as a hi-lift jacking point
-kick out

Installation notes:
-Make sure to scrape the body adhesive like the instructions say. If you don't scrape it off, the sliders cannot mount flush. I thought I was being clever by skipping the step, but came out the other end feeling hella dumb
-Removing the OEM rock rails was super easy
- The speed nuts are easier to install when you shuck em like an oyster just by a bit
- Speed nuts are easier to install with a love tap from a mallet
-I hit the areas I scraped the adhesive off with a few coats of paint to prevent corrosion
- the little bolts call for 11 ft-lbs, the instructions say 124 IN-LBS! If you're not paying attention, I can see this being a not so fun mistake

I'm gonna give these boys a workout at the Rubicon and I'll report back on my findings. I truly hope that they are worth the money spent🤞🏽

Quick Build Update: October 13 2022
-JCR Rear window molle rack
- Rear mounted twin ARB compressor
- OG TE37 wheel stickers
- Kings Coilovers
- SPC upper control arms

Here's a quick recap of what's been going on with Bronlo since the last post
Ford Bronco ⚡️Retro Modern A51 Badlands Build: Kings/KC/TE37⚡️ A53C1EC3-6C44-4634-9360-3F52603F342D-2612-0000017CEEFE6E7D.JPG

No, no, no. My Ford GT was white, like Don Johnson's in Miami Vice. Not yellow.

This was taken at Laguna Seca during Monterey Car Week. The Ford GT is my ultimate dream car. Sick to catch a glimpse of what the future could possibly look like

Ford Bronco ⚡️Retro Modern A51 Badlands Build: Kings/KC/TE37⚡️ IMG_2962.JPG

Threw on some old school style TE37 wheel stickers. Hard to explain, but the stickers help balance the plain-ness of the fat white spokes.

Also! This was my first time riding around without the middle section of the hardtop. I really dig the open air experience and the truck looks rad

Trunk Mounted ARB Twin Compressor Setup:
I haven't seen anyone else mount the compressor on the molle rack and I was hoping that I wouldn't have to be the guinea pig. I've been stalling this project, dreading that it wouldn't work out and end up being a waste of money and time.

With a Rubicon trip just around the corner, I said ef it

Wiring wasn't as hard as I thought. The cheap Ford plastic panels worked to my advantage and were pretty easy to remove. You just need a little patience finessing a fat wire through the tight spots. Having a interior panel pry tool helped speed the process up with less chance of snapping clips.

Ford Bronco ⚡️Retro Modern A51 Badlands Build: Kings/KC/TE37⚡️ IMG_2992.JPG

In the final version, I have rubber washers sandwiched between the metal bolts to dampen the rattling. Rattling is not bad tbh. It's very slight and noticeable on big bumps. I'll post pics later of the final-ish version of this setup. I really love the look.

Lastly the Kings. Are they worth it? How was the install? How's the ride? more on that later.

I had the TE37 VBA and for the life of me couldn't find a full set of original OG logo. I didn't
expect it will go so well with the bronco. Kudos!

Thanks for the compliment! I didn't expect it go so well either lol

These TE's looks super clean on your Miata. Funny enough, I just recently sold a set of TE37 SL's to a local Bay Area Bronco and new Miata owner.

We should all link up sometime. Wayne and I are both in Oakland

On to the stickers, they were ordered from Show Stoppers, a Socal shop.

Part 1 Rear Mounted ARB Twin Compressor: Fitment

Using the JCR rack, there wasn’t much room to mount the compressor vertically like I did. Fortunately I was able to find a sweet spot. There was enough room for:
- Cables to be tucked away without stretching them
- Enough metal on the rack for the giant washers to grab onto for a secure mount

Wiring:
Zipped the wires to the molle panel for a neater look. Be sure to leave room for movement. You don't want it too tight or else you might rub through the wires.

Ford Bronco ⚡️Retro Modern A51 Badlands Build: Kings/KC/TE37⚡️ 69204DF4-6C42-4B75-9083-26FC30A0C595

- With the rear seat full reclined, the compressor wires barely make contact

Ford Bronco ⚡️Retro Modern A51 Badlands Build: Kings/KC/TE37⚡️ A3858930-ED4F-4095-AB15-2773E754A0BA

Switch Panel:
There’s a yellow wire that you’re supposed to connect to something ignition/ electrical related. I decided to tap into the 12v port in the back of the truck to juice up the compressor switch. Snaked the single yellow wire down the plastic trim, ran it along with the loom below the seat backs (the notorious cargo bay hump), back up the opposite plastic trim, finally connecting it to the 12v plug.

Swivel outlet:
This is something I randomly concocted standing in front of the air attachment wall at harbor freight. I like that it's low profile and swivels.

The arb switch is mounted on a switch plate I bought online (I don't remember where). It didn't quite bolt up but zip ties work

Both ends of the hose have a quick disconnects just in case I want to throw on a different attachment.

I run the in-deflate kit to air my tires up and down. It's not the fastest, but it's definitely REALLY convenient. Here's a couple of examples of different ways I can air up.
- in- deflate method: two at a time
- direct from hose method: one at a time

I don't alway carry the in-deflate kit because it takes up space the trunk area. I live in an area with a lot of break-in so it's a "no" on keeping in the truck like the pic below. However the fancy looking blue hose from harbor freight fits nicely in the built-in trunk storage or being the JCR molle panel.
Ford Bronco ⚡️Retro Modern A51 Badlands Build: Kings/KC/TE37⚡️ B3DDF0DA-4D9B-4D60-BFFD-E58438BD4C66

For trips, I intend on stowing the bag (which contains the in-deflate kit and blue hose) behind the panel here.

Miata is a great commuter car for hairdressers, but on-track they're a rolling chicane!

Liking the white TE's on the Bronco. Something different, and reminds me of Land Cruiser style.

Prototype brackets were made to fit the KC's. I love the modern-americana look the truck now has. It has a desert racer vibe with retro cues.

The boys at Race Factory did a bang on job. I'm trying to convince them to do a small batch for y'all if there's any interest in it.. I don't know if KC has made the brackets yet, but I sure as hell couldn't wait.

We did discover that the wipers make contact with the wires at the bottom of the lights. Race Factory is going to make a new set that extends and pushes up the positioning a tad higher. I may add an additional light on each ends to fill out the windshield. I'm in no rush now so, we'll see.

Enjoy!
