📈 Our 2021 Bronco Order Stats / Take Rates After 3K Submissions

• Auto trans get better mileage and drive smoother
• Everyone can drive an auto, so it helps if someone else may need to drive it OR if you plan to hand it down to a child
• Auto trans these days can behave very similar to manuals in terms of full gear control when needed
• The repairability/complexity of auto vs. manual doesn't matter to most, since most people aren't doing heavy engine/trans work on their own 2021 vehicles.

And PS, I'm a millennial, having been born between 1981 and 1996. I know how to drive a stick. I would order a stick Bronco, and want to convert my 1992 Bronco to stick (since autos back then suck).

IMO I prefer M but going A. Grew up on M but between commute and family drivers A is a requirement. If it was just me, I was younger, and didn't have to deal with traffic/dd I'd love a M.

Very interesting stats. I am surprised so few are going base and spending so much to get lux packages, Badlands, etc. I m getting base at 40K and that's a stretch for me as an average worker Bee. Spending over 40K seems crazy, unless you are independently wealthy or something.

It all comes around when the kids are on their own.

The take rate on manual transmissions has been in decline for years. I often wonder why that is? I feel like if the manual was offered in any configuation from the beginning on the Bronco Ford would have seen a much higher percentage than the 10-15% take rate (estimate) that we are seeing so far.

Just an observation and reaction to a lot of comments in this thread. I know for myself I was looking forward to having the option of shifting gears but could not have the features I wanted with a manual trans.

How can people text and shift....
Oh yeah, that's illegal.
Cell phones...16 years X manual transmission decline...18 ish years.

Sure!

Your presumption was correct. Manuals made up 26.27% of 2 doors, vs. just 8.72% for 4 doors.

Some more breakdowns for those interested.....powertrains per trim. Wildtrak and First Edition were obviously 100% 2.7, so I didn't do a chart for them.

Interestingly, there were NO 2.3 Manuals on Outer Banks.

Packages per trim. Base has no package options but the chart was already built in to the spreadsheet, so it got one. FE is all Lux, so didn't do a chart.

Being a no Squatch BB I thought I was a real outlier, but by trim a lot of BB's, BD,s and OBX's are non Squatch. Probably because of the availability of a stand alone rear locker, which was my reasoning.

Not sure I totally agree with you but thanks for offering an opinion.
F-150s last had a manual in 2008 and Super Dutys in 2010. Bronco will be the first truck to have a manual in a long time.
