Welp, there it is. Not even an email to address us, just throw it up on the site. Well done once again @Ford Motor Company .
I think these were instructions to the dealers that were leaked seen before the public announcement. Probably a good idea they know what is going on before you tell the customers so they can handle the questions.

All new tooling and an altered design. It became quite clear that even when manufactured exactly to spec that the design was flawed.

The timeline here is optimistic, but the right move nonetheless.
By the time they actually get around to fulfilling reservations it will be time for a mid cycle refresh.

Blame Covid, blame Webasto, whatever. This vehicle has been in development for YEARS and Ford is just determining now, roughly 8 months AFTER this vehicle should have been in full production, that the supplier they chose cannot build the hard tops in a satisfactory manner? I blame Ford.
So will the public at large. We are enthusiasts so we know about Webasto but the average consumer has no idea. They will just blame Ford. Why Ford seems to be the only one that doesn’t know that is beyond me.

The upside is now those of us moving to MY22 get any potential updates even if its just a color change, but I suspect after the laundry list of Job 1 issues, more stuff will get addressed.

I don’t see where the Broncos built and parked at MAP are addressed in the leaked FAQ.
Am I missing something?

UPDATE- I see it’s part of “My Build Date Has Passed” section.

OK. When in 2022 will the hardtops be good?
And the goal posts get moved again.

"build date has passed" is their way of saying it.

So does that mean that a FE will be built with the “Bad Design” top and delivered with it automatically being enrolled in the Customer Satisfaction (Roof Replacement) program?

They have not been reluctant to throw Webasto under the bus and I expect more of that - and rightfully so. You think being a executive at Ford is uncomfortable right now, what has it been like at Webasto the last few months. :)

They must have already definitively fixed the problem since the reason for the poor communication was that they wanted to make sure whatever they said was 100% accurate. …right?

I wonder if we can still switch to a soft top and get a 2021. I'm VIN-less, but had I known there was zero chance of a build this year, I'd have switched. I just figured I'd be in line with other hard tops. Now I know there is no line 😆

Edit: now that the full FAQ is added, changing to a soft top is still okay to do.
