This photo was taken in Pegosa Springs, Co. I was shooting engagement photos here, and thought I’d get some selfies.

We had an absolute blast The weather was perfect, 30/40 in the morning, and around the 60’s in the daytime.

I am from Texas, so besides going to Big Bend (my trim level) I plan on driving it to Colorado as one of my first road trips!

An oasis down in a small canyon among the high desert, Lemolo Falls is a beautiful sight. The temperature drops and humidity rises as you descend down a steep narrow trail, and the foliage turns from dry bushes to lush greenery.

I went camping near here last year and this was the highlight of the trip.

My son is my regular road trip partner; he's a great co-pilot and traveler. This picture was taken from South Table Mountain overlooking Golden, CO during a different kind of road trip, when I dropped him off for his freshman year of college. We watched the sunset together and both thought about the future. Neither of us knew how hard things would get, but thankfully we will be road tripping again soon.

My best trip was a 3 week road trip with my son before he went off to college. We went from Pittsburgh to California in our Jeep. We camped, hiked, mountain biked, visited friends, saw a concert at Red Rocks and off-roaded all over Colorado, Moab and even did the Rubicon trail. Now our plan is to recreate the trip in the Bronco, but maybe so some different parts of the US. Best father son road trip ever!

A few years ago we bought a 1980 AMC Eagle on the mainland and shipped it to Ohio where we wrenched on it to prepare it for a 18 state 3800 mile roadtrip over the course of 3 weeks. It was the time of our life. Right now we are stripping the car to have it painted so we can keep making memories with it. I doubt it will ever leave our tiny island of Maui, but there are plenty fun places to drive to here. These are a few of the highlights sorry I couldnt pick just one.

This was at my buddy Jason's garage, Hill Top Auto Salvage. A small scrapyard he runs on Route 40 National Road outside of Dayton Ohio.

I had tried to post more photos but they were either the wrong format or too large. Have some good Moab shots, roadside attractions, and rainbows. It was the trip of a life time and will do it all again when we buy a Bronco. why pay someone to ship it cross country when you can drive it. What would Kowalski do? The old Eagle did perform flawlessly on the trip. Hard to believe you can do that kind of thing in an old jalopy, but it was actually perfectly comfortable. I even hit 90mph with that 110 hp inline 6.

I could have picked better photos, but the best part of any road trip is those on the journey with you and sharing the amazing beauty of the earth with them.

The eastern part of Utah is always good for a few colorful road trip photos.

Heres two favorites for a road trip to Death Valley and Zion National Park two springs ago. The first is the super famous road leading into DV at dawn and the second a shot of our galaxy rising over the Watchman in Zion.

A couple years ago, I planned a road trip for my wife and I from Sacramento CA to Bryce and Zion Canyons in Utah. At the time, I was driving a lowered Mustang - so that was our road trip vehicle - it made for some fun on the wide open straightaways. We left on a Wednesday morning, drove all day - stayed at a hotel just outside Zion Canyon and got up Thursday morning around 4am so we could drive to the park and hike to a good overlook for sunrise.. we hiked all day at Zion until sunset, then hopped in the car and drove to Bryce - we stayed in a hotel just outside Bryce Canyon, and did the same thing on Friday.. up before sunrise, watched sunrise over the canyon, hiked all day.. then got back on the road... we drove for a bit and stayed in a hotel somewhere on the way.. and Saturday drove back home.. it was a whirlwind trip, but it was absolutely spectacular.

Not sure if it has to be a road trip by car or human powered but here is my favorite. Me along the Iditarod Trail in Alaska ..
It’s a foot powered or bicycle journey along the interior of Alaska- 1000 miles pulling a sled with survival gear., the beauty of Alaska is indescribable ...it’s forever etched in my ole brain..

Speaking as a Canadian who lives with snow and ice for sometimes as long as 8 months out of the year, I can tell you this is the ugliest, most depressing, God-kill-me-now, scenery one could possibly have to look at.

Sorry man. I have been told I might suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder. That’s killer... but seriously, imagine 8 months of white and grey deadness everywhere, and Mother Nature herself trying to kill you with hypothermia.
