Agreed. Seems obvious they're testing the Sasquatch roof rack. The box could be testing equipment for weight distribution, drag or whatever the reasons were for the roof rack not initially being offered on the Sasquatch package. Just spit-balling here.
Different rim on the spare in the later pics. Looks good!We just caught a prototype Ford Bronco Everglades testing its packaged winch and snorkel, along with a roof rack.
With its roof camo removed, we see a roof rack holding a hinged, wooden box, on which is written: βDo Not Remove From Rack.β Wires protrude from the box, and lead to a series of connections and harnesses, ultimately leading to massive bundles of wires directed throughout the vehicle. Wires appear to go to each wheel, to the middle of the wheelbase, and through open windows into the cockpit. Itβs an interesting configuration that we havenβt seen on any prior Bronco prototypes.
Does the expansive wiring hint towards more features for the Everglades than merely a factory snorkel and winch kit? We'll find out for sure when the Everglades becomes available in Summer 2022.
The data accusation electronics are more than likely in the vehicle. Not all the wires terminate into that box. That and what kind of instrumentation could they really need inside the vehicle? That rack looks loaded with accelerometers and strain gauges with the lead wires going into the back seat where I would generally mount my eDAQ.Hopefully the wood box and wiring isn't standard equipment!
But seriously, why couldn't that go in the back? wonder what else they got in there.
This is essentially the Overlanding edition. Thanks for the pics.We just caught a prototype Ford Bronco Everglades testing its packaged winch and snorkel, along with a roof rack.
