People like me… the ones that don’t expect everything on a first year model to be perfect. Or someone that can vacuum a headliner when I get it. Or someone that realizes I’m buying a Ford off-road vehicle and not a luxury rover. Or someone that also realizes that buying a car virtually unseen by most, I don’t fall into this category, but there’s probably going to be a few things I don’t like about it at some point. Or someone that just doesn’t need something to complain about. Or someone that wants to compare what it comes with to something else that doesn’t exist yet for it(which I’m lazy and didn’t check but I’m assuming like everything else for it the aftermarket headliner doesn’t exist, but sure I’m sure it’s better even if it does exist no one has actually seen it in person). Or someone that at this point wonders how many people are complaining about it that got it for free. I’m sure Ford does appreciate someone like me that realizes what I actually bought, knows it’s not a luxury cars, knows it won’t be perfect and that will probably have some features that people who own one will chalk it up to annoying character, but don’t care about that because all in all it’s a good looking vehicle that is better than the others in its field, or larger inside than it’s field, or whatever someone chooses to put more weight on than a possibly (some owners say there’s is fine) shedding, free headliner that wasn’t going to be great to begin with because like I stated, Jeep’s is junk also. For the record, most aftermarket anything is better than factory, if it wasn’t no one would buy aftermarket. But yeah……there are people who just need something to complain about.
Exactly....but what still makes no sense is why some people are willing to pay exorbitant amounts of ADM (or any ADM at all for that matter) for a first year model which is almost certainly going to have design flaws and other kinks that need to be worked out. Do you think anybody paid ADM for the '32 Ford roadster, the '64 Mustang, the '64 GTO, the '67 Camaro, etc.? Didn't need to pay extra for those and look what they are worth today.

What I think is funny is their are people willing to pay adm to the tune of $10, 20, 30k or whatever and there are people who got them at or below msrp and are complaining about a “shedding” headliner, or whatever else. Kinda like complaining that communication between 10s of thousands of people isn’t all that great while trying to roll out a production. I understand the consumer frustration to a point but I don’t think(I really don’t know) other manufacturers are talking to customers like Ford is. And yes I know no other manufacturers are a year plus behind. No other manufacturers have launched a vehicle like this in a pandemic either. They could just say can’t be done, sorry, here’s your money back, see you in a few years. Would that make everyone happier? Stores can’t keep groceries or toys or whatever on shelves, of course there’s manufacturing delays in this rollout. There’s delays in everything. Try to order appliances or furniture or insert whatever product and see how long it takes. How many times the eta changes. That’s on known consumer products. Compounded by webasto. It sux. I know. I get it. Ever think what it’s like on their end though, swamped buy orders, eager angry consumers, year plus behind, everything going wrong, more little stuff along the way going wrong, I bet it sux. And I bet they wish it was all over. Maybe never even tried. I do know they wish everyone had their bronco. Anyone can walk away and go buy whatever else. Yet we are all still here, rowing our boats, waiting and wanting. There must be something good about their product and how they are trying to handle. Or we are just all idiots.

some folks are willing to accept mediocrity with their $50k+ vehicles and some aren't. I'll personally be opting out of getting the headliner as I don't want shit shedding on me throughout the life of the vehicle.

MIC w/o headliner might be one more constraint to add to your build.

Came via convoy sometime last night.

Top is everywhere in the garage right now. I was not expecting this truck for another month. I need to clean and organize. More in depth pics to follow. Deadener looks pretty good. It's lightly shedding particles everywhere. The bolt cages where I took the top off also look chipped. The paint seems to already be affected from the bolts. I'll post that later as well. For now the bolts are back in.

Congratulations!! Our Bronco has been on Dirt Mountain since June 23rd waiting for a new MIC top, last email from Ford stated the tops would be replaced by order of build date and VIN last 5 of our VIN is 66410 , so again seeing your in production date of 7/24 Ford is not doing what they said AGAIN

I've heard nothing from the top. I took it off as soon as I got home yesterday and have yet to put it back on. Weather this week will be bringing much cooler Temps and rain so I will definitely relay any concerns.

as far as people talking about the headliner shedding, are you running your hand over it to make it? If so, why?
Listen. People asked about the headliner so I relayed the info. Took top off outside and fuzzy stuff was blowing everywhere. I could care less. The deadener is brand new, hell, new carpet sheds. This will most likely go away. Doesn't bother me because it's totally normal. I love this truck. It's fricking here, finally. I can't wait to get back on the trails today. The top is the last thing on my mind. I will let ya'll know the results when it rains later this week.

It looks good. I see no issues. I will continue to monitor once cooler temps and rain comes later this week.

not sure how taking away an option would be a constraint but I would be willing to wait anyways. I want what I want and am not settling for anything.

Since some think this is an issue, Ford should place a sticker on the windshield reminding the dealer to vacuum the headliner as part of PDI. Back when the RS was being built, they had to do this because some dealers were forgetting to remove the foam blocks in the suspension and customers were wondering what all the noise was.

I agree Trent. I just sent an email to my dealer to remove the factory headliner from my order. If it sheds like a Border Collie it doesn't matter to me if it is free. I was hoping Ford would do something about the shedding, but apparantly that isn't one of their priority problems. I will wait on Mark at Hot Heads to get his product to market.
i plan on doing the same thing.
