uhhhh i think most ppl were expecting fabric that doesn’t flake off everywhere when you touch it? “free” or not, they were once planning to charge folks around 500.00 for this option when there are companies like hothead who offer a far superior product for cheaper. if you’re happy with poor quality on an expensive vehicle, great, I’m sure Ford loves people like you, but don’t act like those of us who are rightfully questioning a quality issue are weird for not wanting a less than top quality product.
I agree Trent. I just sent an email to my dealer to remove the factory headliner from my order. If it sheds like a Border Collie it doesn't matter to me if it is free. I was hoping Ford would do something about the shedding, but apparantly that isn't one of their priority problems. I will wait on Mark at Hot Heads to get his product to market.

Have you checked the B6G Tracker at all today? A few 06/21's have been "Built" as of today.
Wait, there is a tracker we can check, or is it just dealers? Also, it looks super gray…I thought it would be black???

Came via convoy sometime last night.

2.7L BB MIC SAS 4dr Cactus Gray

Top is everywhere in the garage right now. I was not expecting this truck for another month. I need to clean and organize. More in depth pics to follow. Deadener looks pretty good. It's lightly shedding particles everywhere. The bolt cages where I took the top off also look chipped. The paint seems to already be affected from the bolts. I'll post that later as well. For now the bolts are back in.

So after seeing the sound deadening headliner, is it worth getting it or no? I'm just wondering if I should take it off my order, or leave it. Thanks!

I'm keeping it and then just vacuuming the shit out of it. Should solve the shedding problem.

I’ve seen several people mention this in this thread. The MIC tops have always been gray.

In poor lighting they can look black or darker, but they’ve always been gray. Even BNation started calling it darker or black for a little while but to me that has always been wishful thinking.

You can tell because they never match the B pillar unless they’re in a shadow. Ford could have just made it matte black but they wanted to be different. I’m stuck going with a softie until an aftermarket hardtop that looks OEM is available

You're absolutely correct John. It wouldn't be a good idea to chance the factory liner turning loose, and with the shedding the Hot Head may not stick to it anyway. I'mma gonna take it off my order.
Wanted33, is there some sort of paint on or spray on acoustic treatment that might work, perhaps from a marine application? Perhaps build up layers? Theres got to be some ingenious invention or reinvention?

Congrats!

I hate to ask a stupid question, but I will anyway. On the MIC top, there are "slots" for the luggage rack. Do they go all the way through? i.e. Can I pass a strap through the "hole" to lift the top off?

I don't know John. But, as you say there are a lot of things out there that we don't know about. I'm quite happy with the Hot Head liner in my Wrangler, and IMHO it is well worth waiting for. I emailed Mark asking when he thought he may have his product ready. And of course he is in the same boat with all of us, he's patiently (or not) waiting for his Bronco so he can get started. I'm so far down the reservation line I expect he'll get his before I even get a sniff of a build date. :)

This is an actual dirt mountain Bronco.

Been sitting since 07/22 until the built email was recieved today.

Dealership was <30min from MAP so OP was able to pick up today.

I'm convinced this is the first MIC v2.0 reservation delivery we've seen on B6G
7/22? Nice, mine has been sitting since 7/2 so let’s hope this is good for all the July builds.
