Thats the idea, but too hard, needs an open cell cavity consistency to absorb sound.Maybe something like this. Not sure how much weight it will add.

Glad to hear there's some escape! *goes back to wearing her "I Want to Believe Two Door Bronco" shirt..*
Looks like dirt to me?Exactly. They burnt the paint with the impact/gun they used to assemble. You can tell because the mark is the shape and placement of a socket
that screw takes a star drive not a socket i get what you are saying but in this case i think they put the top/bracket on while the paint was still soft.Exactly. They burnt the paint with the impact/gun they used to assemble. You can tell because the mark is the shape and placement of a socket
Thank you for all of the pics!Came via convoy sometime last night.

Top is everywhere in the garage right now. I was not expecting this truck for another month. I need to clean and organize. More in depth pics to follow. Deadener looks pretty good. It's lightly shedding particles everywhere. The bolt cages where I took the top off also look chipped. The paint seems to already be affected from the bolts. I'll post that later as well. For now the bolts are back in.

it is a reverse the part you see as dirt is actually where the paint is missingLooks like dirt to me?
It claims to offer some sound deadening. I'd just stick with the factory offering instead of going thorough the extra work.Thats the idea, but too hard, needs an open cell cavity consistency to abdorb sound.
True, but at least the softtop came at no additional cost. I plan to keep it when I buy a hardtop, maybe black modular in 23. Nice thing is we will have a few hardtop options over the next couple years. Curious to see the one with sliding windows, would do well when I car camp in bug infested areas. You could easily say the same about the soft top
I’d like to know this too! I assume the answer is no lolCongrats!
I hate to ask a stupid question, but I will anyway. On the MIC top, there are "slots" for the luggage rack. Do they go all the way through? i.e. Can I pass a strap through the "hole" to lift the top off?
It's a torx bolt.....wouldn't use a socket.Exactly. They burnt the paint with the impact/gun they used to assemble. You can tell because the mark is the shape and placement of a socket
I'm assuming no also. That would be a leak source as well as wind noise if it was open all the way through.I’d like to know this too! I assume the answer is no lol
Yes. Its silly of me to postulate since i don't have the car yet, I suppose we're all imagining while we wait. I've got the factory liner for now and that will do! I've even wondered about Flex Seal Rubber spray! It claims to offer some sound deadening. I'd just stick with the factory offering instead of going thorough the extra work.
- Waterproof flexible helps deaden sound & vibrations
uses a torx bit not socketExactly. They burnt the paint with the impact/gun they used to assemble. You can tell because the mark is the shape and placement of a socket
