First oil change is in the books! Things I learned for my 2.3L 7MT friends:

  • on my badlands at least, there’s plenty of space under the vehicle without lifting to do the whole oil change
  • the steel bash plate under the engine has four 15mm bolts β€” you only have to fully remove the rear ones. You can loosen the front two and just slide the plate out towards the rear
  • I used an oil filter socket and a decent extension to get to the oil filter from the wheel well. It helps to unclip the electrical connector from its bracket and move it out of the way, and remove one trim panel screw to bend the liner back
  • some oil will definitely run out of the oil filter housing when you unscrew the filter. The engineer who designed that oil runoff spout that connects to the frame deserves a case of beer
  • my 2.3L took exactly 6 quarts of oil to get the dipstick up to the top of the acceptable range; the manual states 6.2 quarts is a full fill, but it makes sense there’d be a few tenths of a quart hanging out in oil galleys and what not

All in all, a really easy job! This was the first change I did and I’m glad I did it right after break in β€” with only 1233 miles on the clock, the oil that came out was definitely murky. No glitter or metal bits, but there was definitely some assembly lube and other break in materials in the oil. Do your first oil changes well ahead of schedule, folks!!

Your mods look great. I really like the mountain image on the dash panel!

Not good for me. My engine went out 2 weeks after picking it up. It’s now been almost 3 months and it’s still at the dealership with parts on back order.

Hello Family! Hope your all doing well and enjoying your Broncos! I have a question for the group: Have any of you had the issue of your 2nd row (4door) right passenger window grabbing while trying to open door? Ive tried to reset the window and doesn't seem to work. Most likely its in need of a new motor...So, if any of you know of a TSB that's out for this issue that would be very helpful!!
Enjoy the day and Giddy UP 🐴

Ford Bronco πŸ›  11/22/21 Build Week Group 20DAFBA4-CA23-4125-B420-E24B3590BC87

The rail schedule for train MNSNP 09 arriving at: (it has been delayed twice, but this is the latest):
Clinton, IA @15:30
Beverly, IA @18:55
Marshalltown, IA @21:26
Boone, IA @23:25 (pick up 1 empty car)
Fremont, NE @07:45 (12/12)
Columbus, NE @09:40
Grand Island, NE @12:07 (funny name for a place out in the middle of Nebraska)
North Platte, NE @16:45 (this is the end of the schedule for this train)
I suspect we will transfer routes at this terminal. I think we all stay together until SLC.
Mine is i think same route as yours was, can you tell me how many days took for you to get your car to CA from GLOBAL IL then IA to CA? I just want to make sure im on the right route to California
