Wanted to share a rechargeable faucet I added to the inner space of the tailgate trim. I 3D printed a hinge, a door pull, tube clamp (to prevent siphon drip), and a shelf and base for the faucet. I ran the silicon tube through inside of the tailgate, then to a 3 gal. tank in the back behind my refrigerator. In addition, I also added hooks on the side of my tailgate table to hold a collapsible bucket as a sink.

Heck, yeah. Nice work. Did you also 3D print the stand that supports your PPS and serves as storage for the water canister?

That’s actually wood covered in textured vinyl wrap, same as the deck with the 2 drawers

NICE!! I like that hinge setup @rodmach1 - how did you attach it to the tailgate? And, I assume you just snapped off the tabs that hold it in place. I have a lot going on in my tailgate and an easy access solution like you developed would be super helpful - can you please share the STL file via DM? Thanks in advance!

Hey, thanks. Yes I snapped off the tabs on the left side (pictured in red circles) and the top. On the right side (pictured) I removed the 2 of the 3 metal “spring clips” leaving the middle as the “catch” while the other 2 acted as an alignment guide the added 2 foam bumpers to prevent rattling

. I did pinch the metal clip for the middle to make it easier to open but strong enough to hold closed. All held on with gray 3M tape. Other double sided tape did not hold well with heat, I just didn’t want to drill into the trim if I didn’t have to. I’ll add a picture to see how I did it and link the 3D files which came from Bambulab.

* a buddy of mine filled in the screw holes and I cut the corners after printing to match the trim panel

I just posted the pic and description on how I did the hinge. Sorry, still trying to learn how to use the forum app. Tends to lag so I keep adding multiple pics.

Thank you - I think a couple of rivets instead of 3M VHB to attach the hinge would be a better solution.

I have a dual ARB compressor mounted behind my spare, chase lights and a 6” light bar on my tailgate so I installed a separate power distribution block IN the tailgate. I have power control for the compressor & switch to change the strobe pattern for the chase lights mounted on that cover so better access would be great and your solution is near perfect!

Here’s a picture of what’s inside…

Awesome, and thanks! The goal was to try to make it look OE and not have to drill. I’m trying to 3D design and print the whole door with the hinge and pull handle all in one… to be continued, good luck. Can’t wait to see how yours turns out
