Not sure if this has been asked yet; didn’t come across a thread on this in the “search” but maybe I missed it.

For the 12V outlet in the cargo area, any ideas if this is an “always on” or only when the vehicle is on?

On my Trailhawk, it comes from the factory as only “on” when the vehicle is. However, in the owners manual it explains how to move a fuse and it changes it to “always on” even if the vehicle isn’t, which is handy. Hopefully the Bronco is similar or “always on” regardless of the vehicle being on or not.

Thanks for any insights you may have!

I don't think it is, but having been burned a few times by those kinds of outlets, I kinda prefer to have them off when the car is off

Don’t you learn as a child not to stick your fingers in things…?

Sorry, couldn’t resist lol. I hope they follow Jeep’s lead on this piece in allowing owners to move a fuse and change this very simply.

Good Q. I assumed it was always on. I’ll check my Transit. I’m pretty sure it is.

Maybe someone can ask at one of the local demo events. Or plug in your light-up pineapple and just test it out, since the demos are always off.

Different strokes for different folks but I feel like depending on the car battery to power things while it's not running is a recipe for disaster

For sure something you need to be cautious on, but for example, if I want to use an air compressor or something, I don’t necessarily want my vehicle running at the same time either. But yes, user needs to be cautious.

Someone told us early on that plugging in your pineapple (or other) nightlight disables the start/stop....well, I guess that doesn't answer the question, does it. Never mind.

Is it possibly programable from the settings on the dash? I can turn some stuff on/off from the settings in the dash on my F-250.

I am going to take a wild guess and assume it’s a latching relay so that the current flow from the capacitor used when you turn the key off but don’t open the doors yet
Wait...manufacturers have started using a capacitor to power accessories before you open the door? That has to be a mega giant friggin capacitor to power the window motors, stereo at full volume, infotainment screen, interior lights, and everything else that stays on.

Why wouldn't they just use the battery to power those things?

You could run a power outlet back there using one of the Aux switches and included wiring. Then you would have control. But, now I wonder are Aux switches “always on” or can they be wired either way?

On my Jeep JLU, there is a fuse which can set to a specific location to do that. I hope that would be available on the Bronco as well.
