Which is better 17 inch rims or moving up to 18 inch rims when going to a bigger tire size like 37's or 38's. Is their any benefit to a larger rim?? Also how about width 12.5 13.5 or even 15 any added benefit with wider tires??

I'd recommend going to 17". Tire choices are much better and in general for especially offroading, the more sidewall height of the 17 is more desired. The tire choices alone is reason enough for me.

I suspect even the 37 and 38 inch choices are better in 17, but haven't researched it.

You can go to 15" and get some Interco Irok's... lol Not really, I don't think the brake will fit. Would be a cool setup, though.

I would be curious as to how small of wheel diameter that does fit the Bronco.

Perhaps that is the reason the 16 is the base size. :)

Absolutely, unequivocally this. I have 18” wheels, which I love, but now am stuck with a smaller selection of tires and generally only more expensive options.

The benefit to larger wheels is the ability to go with larger rotors and calipers. Since you are most likely not doing that, there are more tire choices in 17 as opposed to 18. As far as width, it's personal preference and what you are doing. I prefer a more skinny tire. Some like fat tires.

You could be right, but in general, comparing a 17 and an 18 with the same overall height and width, the smaller wheel combo will be lighter, especially with most factory clunkers.

I run method 316s and kenda klever rts... in my case... going with an 18" wheel is absolutely a lighter combo. Not the first time I've run into this phenomenon either... people underestimate the weight of a thick ass sidewall.
