Wish they still offered the auxiliary fuel tank like in 1976. Like that it was not a cigarette lighter but rather a cigar lighter-nice! Oh and what's with the auxiliary front passenger seat? Really gotta pay extra for that?
Aux fuel tank $49.70

If you had a 1976, the main fuel tank was 12-14 gal and the auxiliary tank was 8-10.5 gal. My 1970 Had the Federal 14 gal main and 10.5 aux. if I recall correctly, and Calif destined models had a slightly smaller set of tanks for Federal emissions purposes. At 10-15mpg, you were searching for gas in no time with just 1 tank. The other issue was the tank placement. The auxiliary tank was under the driver seat and I don’t recall if the main tank was placed in front of or behind the rear axle

I used to own a 76, but i think the aux tank was a little smaller than 10 gallon ( if my memory serves)

To switch the tanks there was a manual valve lever under the driver seat. The auto trans was C-3. A light 3 speed with no lock up torque converter. The early ones were very simple machines.

The Bronco was essentially a parts bin vehicle that used parts from the Mustang, Falcon, & F-100 pickup.

I think Ford used the C4 automatic trans in the Bronco. It was also a 3 speed non-lockup type as you mentioned. Decently strong and compact. Big brother at the time was the C6.

I agree, C4 is correct. The first years had a D30 front diff but in 71 as I recall they went to a D44. The early Bronco's were very simple, everything rattled, They were noisy inside.
