It certainly seems unnecessary from a marketing perspective. They don’t need to drive more demand at this point…. We have already stuck it to them, so why not kick them all in the groin while we can? It will be fun.”
But I’m guessing they used this manufacturing run of dealer demos to optimize the assembly process and work out some kinks. If I was an early res holder, I’d rather the first vehicles off the line go to dealer demos rather than have one of those endup in my garage.
