I would say that if you could afford it buy it and sell it as soon as you get it in. Take the money and get the basesquach. I would say put in a new reservation right now for your base. You will get what you pay for it, probably more for the FE and you can get the base.

The highest residual value percentage according to Ford Credit is the base 4-door. It is 67% after 4 years. The First Edition is much lower, at only 53%:

Plus there are taxes, fees and the fact that it cannot be considered a new vehicle anymore.

My base manual 2-door non SAS, will be rarer than the 1st edition.

Well, the only things Ill add to the discussion are:

A. Get what makes you happy and what makes sense for you. If a base squatch is a better fit then get it.

B. That said , you could probably flip that first edition for a small profit, buy a base squatch, and pocket $20k or more. Down side is you'll have to wait for you 2022/3 base squatch .

You’re not crazy. I would do the same thing, but I would go base base. Just something about the base that is more appealing than other trims.

I'd do it, I'd be in a Base SAS now if not for the significant other. FE's going to take 40 years to be worth anything substantial above any other model and that's only if you don't drive it. And look at the Gladiator FE fiasco (they were way late coming out).

FE will have the sway bar disconnect and the higher tech levels. Different interior options.

You can order literally any trim combo you want with your FE reservation. For example, maybe a Badlands is a better option for you... or a Squatched Big Bend... or maybe you want the First Edition.

Research what you want, and get it. It’s your Bronco. Don’t get something just because someone else wants it.

Based on the first 1000 take rate ( all things equal ) :
7% Base model take rate & 59% of them SAS

7000 FE - 11.7 % (7000/60000)

2478 Base/SAS - 4.1 % (60000 x .07 x .59 )

Store the one of 14 MY21 Base Sas- 4 DR-2.3L -Shadow Black

Dude. You have an FE reservation, use it! Order a 2 door Lightning Blue, put it up for sale immediately when you get it, take the profit and order your MY22. Put in another reservation right now and use that for exactly what you want to keep. Might as well drive an FE while you wait.
