I'm contemplating removing my front fender sticker and replacing it with a classic matte Bronco script badge a la the first generation Bronco (but painted matte black or gray).

On the rear though all I've found is the FORD lettering stamped into the tailgate and then painted, I think.

When did the bucking Bronco logo begin, and where was it displayed? I was thinking painting mine matte black as well to match the Bronco script but might just remove it all together.

I'd love for a knowledgeable Bronco historian to fill me in or link me to sites as I haven't found much detail about this. Thanks.

This would be really cool. I would love more of a first-gen Bronco look.

The first I seen the bucking Bronco was on a Bronco II.
Not sure if it was any earlier.

Edit: There was one on the Gen 1 Bronco Sport emblem.

If you are looking for Bronco history you should check this book out. It's pretty detailed.

There will be plenty of 3D printed or vacuum formed emblems, don't worry.

Once revved up, the aftermarket will straight up drown you in badges, stick on emblems, stripes, stickers, reflectors, decals, fake vents and other car vomit, so be careful what you wish for. 😅

My '73 is as you describe. The tailgate lettering is stamped and painted white. The fender badges are metal (your remember that Ford?) There is some substance there. The grille letters bolt on and of course spelled FORD. I like everything they did with the 6th Gen, I just wish the fender badges were metal.

Thanks everyone for their input. That's interesting that the bucking Bronco didn't come along until later. I was big into Mustangs and thinking of a 1964 1/2 Mustang without a galloping pony on the front would be crazy.

I might ask for that book for a gift from someone, looks like to good reading.

Some other bits I found:
