Drives just fine on 35s. There are thousands of 2.3 Sasquatch on the road already. I had a 2 door base with 2.3 that I got a 2” lift and 35” KO2s and it drove excellent and still got 19.5 mpg

2.3 with 35” BFG KO2’s on 3.73 gearing and a 2” lift, and I’m hovering around 18mpg city/18.5-19mpg highway. I probably could squeeze 20mpg out of it if I didn’t have a spirited right foot.

edit: ride quality remained the exact same as stock due to the Rough Country spacer lift and the KO2s having such a mild tread pattern.

I’ll trade your hills for some of these deranged Mario Kart drivers we have down south 😅

It's a bit sluggish even with 4.70 gears. I'm fine with it but some people would be disappointed. Lightweight 35s will help.

Does anybody with the 2.3 and 3.73 gears with taller tires regret not getting the V6? The 2.3 seems to make enough power (compared to my old Tacoma with 159 hp and 33's) but the 3.73 gears with the taller tires make me wonder if a base truck will feel it. My Tacoma reg cab had 4.10 gears with the automatic so the 33's didn't feel much worse than stock since it had no power to begin with. I'm leaning towards the V6 but with the 4.27 or 4.7 gears the 2.3 seems like it shouldn't have issues. It's the 3.73 that might feel like it struggles with taller tires.

3.5” lift with 315/70/17 toyo open country RTs. Don’t notice any difference but I only had the 33s on for 1 day before upgrading. My MPG is at 13.8 so there’s that

. True the 2.3 does a fine job with 33’s. Of course the 2.7 does better, just a matter of $ and what you want. For one to say ‘no difference, is complete nonsense. Off course ride quality changes.

2.3 on 35s is fine. Most driving depends on the driver. I've never had an issue, always had a smile on my face when driving the bronco. I think it's pretty spunky in the 2dr

Just remember the 2.3 has more hp and torque than any previous gen of bronco in stock form. We used to roll 38s and 40s with 3.50 gears and 165 hp smogger v8s. Unless you're a power junkie it'll be fine. Town & country ford has a you tube video about a 4 door base 2.3 auto they built on 37"s that might be helpful.

I’ve got a 2.3 on 37x12.5R17 with 4.27 gears. I get 20MPG. All the roads near me are 55mph. So that helps. Not that I needed more power, but I added K&N CAI and the Ford Performance Calibration. If that stated increases are true then I’ve got 395 fl/lbs of torque. Plenty of power.

I drove a Big Bend with a 2.3, 7MT, 4.46 with true 35’s and it was fine. Drove a Wildtrack immediately after. Definitely quicker, but after driving a Lightning for 25 years, I wouldn’t call either quick or fast but certainly wasn’t expecting it either.

4D SAS 2.3L, drives great. At <2,100 miles on the odometer, I'm reading a cumulative 16.4 MPG. You will feel a bit more sluggish >65mph on the highway, but the Bronco is a brick, and physics is physics. The 2.7L would probably push through the wind resistance a bit more, but it's another $2k and the MPG is about the same, so I didn't see the point.

You'll do fine with the 2.3L and SAS. As some other folks in this thread have shared, there are more factors to consider when going aftermarket (wheel weight, tire weight/tread, suspension components).

I'm really happy with my ride, and just accept that my cost per mile will be at a premium.
