Not seeing to many posts out there but last night roughly 5 minutes after initially starting up and driving less than 1/2 a mile the Bronco cut off after coming to a full stop at a stop sign.

Dash lit up saying to place car in park and restart the engine. Drive just fine after that and made it 15 miles to my destination then 30 miles back home after the event.

No idea what caused this or if I should be expecting more of the same in the future. There were no concerns on the drive after the one stall out and restart.

Luckily was just at a stop sign and not trying to maneuver through an intersection.

Tighten all your battery connections and grounds to the body and fuse box. Make sure all the fuses are fully pressed in. It’s not uncommon to find something loose and causes similar issues to what you had happen.

Ford Bronco 2.3L (automatic) stalled at stop sign wtf-

My 'go-to' dazed and confused look gif. It's not like you were....like... you know... driving! Good thing you weren't running from the cops or in some kind of "bait-car" moment at the mall.

We had a 2000's Durango that did this often and it almost got my wife killed once in an intersection. It turned out it needed a major software issue. We solved the issue by selling.

These small Gremlins that I occasionaly read about on B6G forums scares the hell out of me. Good luck with this issue, hopefully FORD dealership can escalate it since it sounds like a safety issue. Good luck trying to reproduce the issue for warranty purposes.

Probably the auto start system being dumb. It will tell you to shift to park and manually restart if it fails to operate correctly.

That was one of my first thoughts too.. curious as to whether or not auto start was deactivated prior to the occurrence

Just modern day manufacturers making sure you don’t want to keep anything past warranty period. Keeping you just happy enough that you might buy another.

I was going to suggest this as a first remedy.

If it is the ASS, then there's nothing you can do; however, it may be the ASS missing a signal because of a loose connection. I don't know why it doesn't just default to "off" in case of failure and just turn back on when you start your vehicle up again. You don't need ASS to drive and the brain shouldn't need to know whether it is on or off and default to behaving as if it's off ok error, but... maybe someone justified their salary by coding that BS into it or someone trying to comply with government regs/gov bureaucrat said that it had to be that way... lots of cooks in that bath salts kitchen.

Could you please send over a message with your VIN and estimated mileage? I would like to look into your Bronco's stalling issue on my end.
