Side note: I was impressed by the amount of droop in the standard front suspension.

No, no, no, no, NO! Stop spreading this mis-information.

This has been incorrect information since the magazine rags blatantly f-d up the 2019 Ranger oil change info and has since been REDACTED.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO REMOVE THE WHEEL TO ACCESS THE OIL FILTER ON RANGER.

If you were keen on a quick search, i've outlined the process on Ranger. Bronco is the same.

https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/changing-your-own-oil.13228/page-7#post-484155

I have also outlined simple things you can do to improve your oil change experience and make it even easier. I also document the massive laundry list of tools needed (all 4!).

Wow, do you feel better now that you have properly chastised me. I certainly hope so. If you were more focused on reading comprehension than patting yourself on the back you would have seen that I said I don't do my own oil changes anymore, and that I only ask a simple question about the oil change on the Bronco. So ease up buddy, I'm not your child.

I'm not an astronaut, therefore whatever I say about space travel is valid:

Aliens exist and are going to attack Earth!

You can be your own man, pay somebody to do your oil changes and drive you around, and still not spread misinformation, or edit your post so that others don't continue to propagate wrong information.

How is it misinformation? The job gets accomplished either way. Just because you saw a video on how to turn the wheel for access before him doesn't mean you are an expert. People come here to learn, not be belittled. You are a legend in your own mind.

It was misinformation enough to need to be formally redacted by the sources which ran with the story because it was false and incorrect.

With the Ranger 2.3L you remove the left front wheel/tire for easier access to the filter. Would that work for the Bronco also?
In my driveway with my Ranger, I simply turned my wheel, removed 3 push pins on the inner fender "flap" and accessed the filter with a jaw type filter wrench adapter that goes on the end of a 3/8' drive extension. The built in funnel works amazingly well, really no mess at all. On a lift I would think removing the front tire and going in from the side would much easier than the video. It's almost like it was designed for a DIYer, but doubtful. Also, leaving the front bolts partially in for the skid plate. It has "slots" so it makes removing and installing much easier. Looks identical to the Ranger FX4 set up. OP, thanks for the video!

The fact that he would remove the tire instead of just turning the wheel doesn't mean you should degrade him. I used to enjoy your posts, but your turning into an egomaniac.

Would it avoid the warranty if you use other oil than motorcraft in your vehicle? Legit question. In others parts of the world, Ford check what kind of oil was used to know if they can proceed with the warranty.

As long as it's a quality oil, and meets Fords standards you shouldn't have any problems. Maybe keep all your receipts just in case there's any questions.

Did the 2.3 today, that guys a fool. There is no accessing filter from below. Jack front left up a bit to separate the tire from body and that gives you plenty of room to reach filter above front tire. Get a filter wrench that goes on your socket wrench with extensions. See image. I love the drain plug is same 15mm as skid plate.

I really enjoyed doing oil changes on my VWs. The dealer that I got our 2.3L is nearly 40 minutes away. I’d happily do them myself - but, I was under the impression for warranty reasons it had to be handled by them. I’ve never owned a brand new vehicle before. Can I just keep records (and use Motul and not Motorcraft) under an extended warranty?
You can keep records! The oil we use meets Ford Spec and will not have a warranty issue!

Thankyou

I saw the manual calls for a FL910S filter and kit provides a FL400S. Is it worth using the larger FL400S filter?

In our experience having the extra cleaning capacity has really helped these motors. We have been using the fl400 for 6 years now on the 2.0-2.3
