Video showing teardown of the 2.3L Ecoboost engine. This particular one's owner neglected to change oil, but still gives a great view into how the 2.3L EcoBoost engine is put together.

I watched the video the other week. I am glad I know where all the miles came from on my little engine.

Me too—I only buy new.

People give me a hard time because it's a financially stupid decision. But every car that I have owned since new made it beyond 270,000 miles without any major failures. So... doesn't seem so stupid to me. 🤷‍♂️

I don't only buy new, in fact I prefer used... BUT with how modern engines are engineered to be so high strung with smaller displacements I am worried about their longevity with people not following proper up keep.

Impressive lil engine. Add a cyl or two and it would be even more impressive. A 5cyl version would be 2.9 liter and close to 375 hp. Six would be 3.5 and close to 450 hp. (If my math is right)

Somewhere out there (in Missouri, it seems) is a guy complaining loudly to everyone who will listen about how bad Ford engines are and how his was total crap and never buy a Ford, blah, blah, blah. 💀 Pretty sure his reviews never mention the 50,000 mile oil change interval. 😆

Made the switch to olive oil after 500ft and never looked back! Go green!
When will this misinformation stop. Time and time again Avocado Oil has been proven better for high heat applications. I only use Purple Avocado

I'm starting up a "dealership" to sell Amsocado. It's proven to be way better than Big Oil.
