Update 05APR22:
I picked the Bronco up on Friday. It turns out it was not a valve cover gasket issue. The valve cover itself had a small crack, under a sticker no less, from the factory. That small crack became a large one after a couple hour road trip the previous day. Ford was great and worked with the dealer to get the part expedited and installed. They also gave me 36,000 miles of free maintenance as a way of saying thanks for the patience.

My final thoughts: Mistakes happen everywhere. It's what you do to make them right that counts and Ford made it right. I am definitely satisfied with how Ford took care of the situation.

Update 22MAR22:
I went by the dealership today. They say it's a valve cover gasket leak, but the parts they need are back ordered. I don't have any details right now about why it happened or what might have caused it. The dealership did pull a new Expedition off the lot for me to use as a rental (free to me) which is awesome. I'll continue to give updates as I have them.

___

I went out this morning and came back to the house to find a significant oil puddle on the ground where my Bronco had been parked the night before. I got underneath and there's oil everywhere, except for oil filter which is dry (was hoping it was loose, but alas). Opened the hood, found spots of oil in multiple places. Checked oil level and it is right at bare minimum level. After a couple frustrating phone calls with Ford, getting it towed to the dealership here in the next 15 mins. I'll keep you updated with what I find out.

That's bad luck Will. Good luck, I hope it's nothing serious.

I have a Ranger with the 2.3L, and frequent the Ranger5g forum. There is hardly any complaints about the 2.3L, or problems reported. I've been on the forum since 2018, and haven't seen anyone report a oil leak like that.

Might be the rear main seal if it's all coming from that mating joint between the motor and trans, unless you can trace it up higher on the block.
There does seem to be oil coming from there for sure. Oddly though, it's like oil has sprayed out from somewhere too. Here's a pic I took from under the hood of the engine info sticker and you can see some of the spray on the sticker itself.

It's already at the dealership, but I did check the oil filter and oil cap. Both were good. Should have checked the drain plug, but I didn't. There was oil higher up so I guess I just skipped past it.
