2.3L turbo is shot [CLOSED DUE TO INSULTING BEHAVIOR BY OP & OTHERS. BANS INSTITUTED]

My Bronco was delivered yesterday. I was supposed to pick her up today but got a text that the TURBO IS SHOT!!!!! 394 days of waiting and now God knows how much longer. How did it leave the factory like this?????? Thanks @Ford Motor Company for a STELLAR experience. UGGGHHHHHHH
Built Jan 22nd... sat on dirt mountain 6 months... delivered yesterday... F'ed today. SO UNBELIEVABLY PISSED.

Your dealer caught it during the pre-delivery inspection, and you didn’t drive home a brand-new Bronco only to find out a few days later than you had to get it towed back due to a failure.

Yup it sat there and if it’s designed anything like the 6.0 with a unison ring they rust together. They can be disassembled and cleaned if it’s a unison ring issue but in a new vehicle they probably would rather not. As we have one of each I’m trying to keep up on any issues. Both of ours are Dailey drivers so hoping that helps some.

Months of sitting outdoors without any opportunity to be driven is bound to create issues. Internally at Ford this is known as lot rot. Things corrode and seize up, especially brakes. Tires flat spot, paint fades, and engines develop issues.

Look your vehicle over well before you sign any documents.

Someone did suggest you could call around and see if other dealers have the turbo. They can look up surrounding dealers too. The day after I tried, my turbo arrived lol
