2.7 motor should be a longer lived trouble free motor over the 2.3

Not crazy about turbo engines that are offered but guess what thats what we have,a na engine would have been a cleaner install but how many people care about what the underhood configuration is?

What is that 3rd hose coming out of the firewall below what I assume are the heater core hoses?
Nothing fancy, it's the deluxe heater so there is a thermostatic switch which requires heat to activate.
AKA: has a temp sensor which switches the heater on/off automatically. However, temp is coolant temp, not cabin air temperature. Basically you sweat a lot when the heater is on.

My opinion is based off a few friends that have the 2.7 and the 3.5 . The guy with a 3.5 has 168k miles of trouble free driving but another friend with a 3.5 had throttle body issues. The hood friend with the 2.7 has 75k miles without a issue .
Not knowing any one with a 2.3 of the newer generation nothing like the old ones I have heard things about the blocks right before or after 100k miles going bad.

Besides the 10 A the 2.7 is a terrific proven motor . Should out live a 2.3 4 cylinder . I tend to keep my vehicles 20 years .
I have a 2002 supercrew I have owned it from day one. Actually bought it off the showroom floor. Had 3 miles on it now it has 126,000 and still running. But it’s rusted bad! Love the truck. Hopefully my Bronco will last me that long too.
