Oh, c'mon now. Doesn't everyone want their vehicle to sound like an angry weed eater while they bounce down the trail breaking CV joints and bending control arms? And the worst sounding at the same time!

And yet the most derided engine Ford has ever made (which happened to go in a bronco) puts out double the torque of that thing @ 2000 RPM. So this is what "truck" engines have come too.............??Just to put In perspective. The 2.3 Ecoboost will make the 6th gen, the most powerful bronco EVER! Let alone a 2.7
Keep leaving one out. Available straight from the Ford dealer, like all the rest.

About the same off idle torque as my old 514.................
A little red wagon is an upgrade over that pinto. .I'm not going to try to change your mind, but I will point out that the 2.3L turbo 4 cylinder that the Bronco is likely to get is a completely different beast than what was in your old Pinto.
It makes 270 peak horse power and 310 pound feet of torque as specced in the current Ranger. That should be plenty to scoot the new Bronco up and down the road.
For comparison, the 3.3L naturally aspirated V-6 that serves as the F-150's base engine is making 290 HP, but only 265 pound feet of torque. We're probably not going to see that in the Bronco, either.
Any of the EcoBoost V-6s, like the 2.7L, would be a clear upgrade over the 2.3L base engine, though.
And it still sounds better than the 2.7And the worst sounding at the same time!
Which is exactly why I drive a 5.0L F-150 instead of a "new" Ranger that has actually been on the international market since 2010. I solved the Coyote torque curve issue by buying an F-150 with 3.73 gears. Pulls like hell and doesn't sound like a fart under water while doing it.Y'all can have the tiny engines. I will just get another F-150 if the only choice is a 2.3 in a Bronco. Driving them is not in my wheelhouse anymore.
Iāve seen 2.3 ecoboosts running almost 400whp on e85 and bolt onsinteresting comparison of different engines in F150 stock vs tuned. As far as the 2.3 goes, yes, itās hard for people to grasp a 4cyl in their truck but that 2.3 has more hp and almost as much torque as any Previous V8 Bronco and with a tune itās game over for any competitors in its class. Below is not the 2.3 but good comparison of the EBs vs V8
Weak block? What are you talking about? Unless you are referring to the OLD 2.3 that had gasket issues on the focus RS. (Less than 2,000 cars effected with faulty gaskets and head bolts) But every other version has been great. If the best engine available is a 2.3 cylinder ecoboost. Iāll pass. The 2.3 ecoboost is a weak block and I would have serious concerns about the abuse it could handle on a 4x4 model that sees constant off road use.
Unless Ford comeS out with a new generation version that addresses the weak block design, Iāll pass.
The Bronco 4x4 models need at least the 2.7 V6 ecoboost or better for reliability and torque..
I need reliable torque not whp in a 4x4. Torque is what kills engines, not horsepower.Weak block? What are you talking about? you can safely get 400hp out of those. Donāt really need much more do you?
and yes v6tt is coming too.
