Why not lemon law it and have Ford replace the entire vehicle?
You don't know Drew obviously. He would never lemon law a Bronco. He has a semi-truck that serves as a tow pig for his Broncos when he goes wheeling. He may have to get a new double-deck carrier as the current one only holds 4 Broncos. A week after owning it, he had it stripped down to the frame for a custom paint job and gutted the interior.

so what numbers do we want to use? 50k broncos built last year, let’s be rediculous and say 20k are 2.7. If that’s the case

200 bad engines would be 1%

1,000 bad engines would be 5%.

we’re still far away from these numbers.

I’ll worry when we get closer to 10%
So it's going to take 2, 000 engines to blow before you worry?!?!?

I have no words.

I don’t understand, do you think 100% of every part on every vehicle should be perfect? What world do you live in?

Anyone that has ever worked with stats for a living know you can make them lean any direction you want.

To compare the failed motors of the members on this forum to any number OTHER THAN the members on this forum with 5k+ miles and No blown 2.7, is something that a marketing/PR person would do, and most people would fall for it.

it’s a known fact that 38% of stats are made up.

Are these people serious? Or just so driven by brand loyalty that they’ll make any attempt to thwart actual data gathering to see if there is an actual issue? Either way- they should just hang out at BN if they’re looking for lollipops and candy canes.

For those just joining this thread, read this before redefining what’s being gathered here:

We are gathering data of blown 2.7’s of forum members here at B6G, whether they’re long term members or joined anew. This data ONLY deals with 2.7 broncos owned by forum members. There are 29k or so members here- so we are not using the 34k bronco 2.7 owners out in the wild. We have no data/control over anything out there. We are using data from here only. So when trying to figure out a failure rate, we can only guesstimate total owned 2.7’s from members here and using 25 blown motors divided by 34k total produced broncos is inaccurate with what we’re gathering- so just stop throwing that out there.

All we can do here is estimate a failure rate of forum members. That’s it. Don’t make it more or less of what it is. Could the rate here be indicative of the broader population? Maybe. Maybe not.

Watching thread. Would this be part of the constraints on those orders with 2.7 L engines?

Hard to say. Could just be the supply chain limitations on parts in general.

Maybe it’s because y’all did your first oil change at 1000 miles. JK, of course.

Hitting the historical timeline seems to be a mistake at this point. Too many late comer Fordbois who read the last three pages of a 35 page thread. Plenty of (F) Stock holders here is also a guess. And just dudes that love to argue.

Edit: Why Ford may continue to not acknowledge issue.

Here is a suggestion. Why not update the thread with the forum numbers we are dealing with.

# of 2.7’s
% of forum those numbers represent
# of forum 2.7 failures
% that represents

That would eliminate a lot of the bickering. My last suggestion would be to explain the engine range theory and put something together that forum members can easily understand.
