2.7L blown engine failure list . . 68 so far [Updated: December 13, 2022]

I poured over these last night. Only interesting one was a software update for a lean condition. But engines have failed in Broncos built after the date listed. Could still be a problem though.

What did you think of the loss of power with failure ? They start with Ranger and add Bronco afterwards

We can safely assume that Ford is aware of the grenadier edition. On the Scott Yuen failure report on the FB group this morning a Ford employee at MAP commented that it was the 5th cylinder dropping. Curious as they don't post too often, I asked them to clarify if they had a similar problem or was he only speculating on the recent failure. His quote, " lots of 2.7s dropping cylinder 5 known issue I believe there's a TSA* on it."

*He mistyped TSA for TSB. I also quoted him in the event his comment is removed.

Almost all the ones that mention Ranger and Bronco are on the 2.3L or non-engine related. The one I'm referring to is Bronco 2.7L and requires reprogramming the ECU and/or replacing the upstream O2 sensors. There are a few other non-engine related TSBs that everyone should read and check their Broncos. Usually you can Google the TSB or SSM and find the entire Ford document online.

- when time permits we appreciate engine label info - has engine ser# - photos below
- maybe Service Dept can take a look and provide it to you
