So, if it's typically Cylinder 5, whats so special about the valves in that one? I would think that if it's a valve retainer or something along those lines, wouldn't it be random across all cylinders? Maybe a head casting problem? Or maybe something to do with cam journals? Are the left/right heads different?
not always cyl #5

She didn't have an issue: she collated lists of MAP QC issues and presented them.
@Belem Almost like that. Actually, I scoured this forum for repetitive issues, then made my own list, which i shared here and elevated to Ford.

Are you speculating about this manufacturing tolerance or do you have some inside info?
My comments are based on decades of experience in the automotive/manufacturing industry. Not just myself, but also my friends and family. We've seen this cycle of failure many times, in many components, and they all seem to evolve/resolve in a similar fashion.

I found the actual website for the Lima Plant here:
https://www.at.ford.com/en/homepage/news-and-clipsheet/plants/na/lima-engine.html

Which had a link to the "State of the Plant Newsletter" here:
https://www.at.ford.com/en/homepage...ive/2022/1/state-of-the-plant-newsletter.html

There was mention of a known valve issue in this newsletter

I sent an email with a link to this thread so they could be aware of the information gathered here. I'll let you guys know if I get a response...
Valves for a Nano engine...is that similiar to the 2.7?

Is there a manufacturer date range of these motors that might drop a valve? I would like to see if I'm in or near the range. Thank you
