Hmm, I am curious what leads you to believe that all valves are bad after LEP newsletter stated Nano Valve issues were resolved. But of course you could be right, I just don't see how. If the valve failures were all exhaust valve failures I might believe you due to something Ford Engineers did to eek out more Horsepower and Torque on the Bronco Nanos. But I am pretty sure I read at least one failed valve was an intake valve.
IMHO...All valves "until" the correction as opposed to just a batch or two of bad ones... meaning in the forums thinking INTAKE Valve ..smile.

To be clear, you think there was a correction that was made to the valves as mentioned in the news letter, and that it wasn't just a few out of spec batches. Either way, if our JD values are out of the hot zone, we should be fine.

It’s okay, us 2.3’s will still give y’all a ride if your 2.7 can’t make it home
Okay, clearly you don't have a 2.3 or else--how did you write that?

@Lucchese

Are we aware of any engine failures after the resolution of the Nano valve supplier issue?
The State of the Plant announcement said they redesigned & updated materials.

I've scanned through most of this thread to find the answer with not much luck.

Will you promise to stop when we get there?

Oh, my number already hit. My Bronco is a member of the dropped valve society. I was just making a quip about all of the numbers being thrown around
Yeah, I caught that as I know you have been active, I just did't remember your number not only came up, but you had a valve that didn't. What is the status of your replacement?

I see that the NHTSA site is up to 11 engine complaints now. Still a far cry from the 38 on here alone.

. . any engine failures after the resolution of the Nano valve supplier issue ?
The State of the Plant announcement said they redesigned & updated materials.

Recent Changes - 2.7L Bronco V6 (Nano gen2)
- over the past 6-months there were at least three changes

1) New Valves
- 'Nano valve supplier issue was resolved with more robust design and material changes at the supplier.'
- Timeframe: ~ Summer/Fall

2) Head Assemblies - New Part#'s
- Left
-- Engineering# ML3E-6M099-DB --> new rev -DF
-- Service part# ML3Z-6049-G --> new rev -K
- Right
-- Engineering# ML3E-6F093-DB --> new rev -DH
-- Service part# ML3Z-6049-D --> new rev -J
- Timeframe: prob along w change# 3) below

3) 2.7L V6 Engine - New Part#
- Engineering# MB3E-6007-AA --> new rev -AB
- new part# prob coincident w new head assemblies
- Timeframe: appears ~ Nov/Dec ebd's

Blown Engines
- in B6g tracking, the bunches of dropped-valve failures appear to end w ebd 21224 (Aug 12) - Since then we've only seen one blown engine (21281), which could be an isolated random failure
- so far we have not seen blown engines w new part# rev -AB
- engine rev -AB still fairly new, many still low mileage

Diagram of Head Assemblies w Service part#'s (6049 overall)

I haven’t read all this thread but I hear everyone saying they dropped a valve. How would a bad batch of valves cause a dropped valve? Could keeper/retainer notch be bad and not lock in the keepers? Could the valve break at the keeper/retainer notch? Is it really the (6518) in the diagram actual valve keeper/retainer that failed to keep the valve, thus dropping into cylinder? Or the rocker could kick off due to bad lash adjusters (6500) causing it to hit the spring, which could throw the retainer and drop the valve? This was an issue on some 5.4’s. Only so many parts can cause a dropped valve but it usually isn’t the valve itself that failed.
