Ford Bronco 2.7L blown engine failure list . . 68 so far [Updated: December 13, 2022] hist - Blown 2.7L Stats - 2022.July.18

Ford Bronco 2.7L blown engine failure list . . 68 so far [Updated: December 13, 2022] bivariate - mileage vs ebd - 2022.July.18

Over 90% of dropped valve events range Julian 159 - 224
Ford Bronco 2.7L blown engine failure list . . 68 so far [Updated: December 13, 2022] Blown 2.7 ebds Hot Zone - 2022.July.18

Notes:
- in October a Ford Lima employee (@Jay3630, deleted soon after) made five posts re 'bad batch of brittle valves' - 'April batch' - see posts #1, #2, #3, #4, #5
- if the failures are caused by 'bad valves', maybe that 'April batch' has been working its way thru the system - then the problems could subside ?
- late October a Ford Service Technician wrote a post re nationwide frequency of failures - he said 'about thirty in the last month . . recorded in the Ford Technicians Forum page'

January '22 - Lima Plant Newsletter - Ā§ Quality, page-1
-- 'Nano valve supplier issue was resolved with more robust design and material changes at the supplier.'

What were the engine build dates? I'm not sure what the numeric codes mean.

Keep the popcorn popping....I doubt this story is going away.

So....I wonder how many 2021 Broncos are sitting in customer driveways so far?
Some percentage - 60%/70% - will have the 2.7
Some percentage of that likely doesn't have 1,000 miles

And 18/19 blown engines only represents folks posting their issue on this forum. So, multiply that by 3x...5x...10x?

Is have to say that 24 people just on this forum does seem like a lot. Thatā€™s 24 people from this group:
- Bronco 6g member
- AND has their Bronco delivered already
- AND got the v6
- AND has enough miles on it for the problem to show up
- AND decided to post about it

Iā€™d suspect that thatā€™s a fairly small group of people in total, and 24 is not a negligible subset of that group.

EDIT: From 19 to 24 to keep up with the current number

At least a whole shifts worth right?? A weeks worth of shifts worth?
(totally making shit Up here..)
But seriously I think itā€™s hundreds if not a couple thousand ticking timebomb 2.7ers out there. My BaseSquatch is (supposedly) being finished this coming week and I am peeved about all this zip tie bullshit I have to fuck with in a month.

I know that I've seen a few posts in FB groups of 2.7 failures. Because of privacy concerns, many of the FB groups admins have made the groups private so there is no way to share the information. If you share a link, it just takes you to the groups splash page asking you to join. I could screen shot the posts, but that seems to be more work only for the Ford Apologists to shout down any fault that is mentioned.

Nicely composed list. I understand every engine has its own set of issues (2.3 included) but at this point I'm feeling relieved I don't have the 2.7 on order. I really hope Ford can sort this out soon.

I haven't followed it closely, seeing how Ford seems not to want to build certain Broncos. I am shocked someone is on their second one already !!!!!!!!! That would make it seem to be more in the electronics not a bad batch of parts. Bad batch of parts would all be built generally the same time.

Some percentage of that likely doesn't have 1,000 miles

And 18/19 blown engines only represents folks posting their issue on this forum. So, multiply that by 3x...5x...10x?
Itā€™s 18-19 posted on a small forum of a small sample size. That would make it MORE significant, not less. No one knows how many may or may not be blown in the general public. If it was 18 out of every 2.7 bronco produced, THAT would be very insignificant.

Iā€™m not saying this is some major issue, but using the argument of thereā€™s 18 on this forum, therefore itā€™s a small sample is not accurate. 18 out of however many 2.7ā€™s owned and driven of bronco6g users only could actually be somewhat significant.

Mine is 21169. No issues so far, almost to 3K miles. But, if it happens, it happens, it's under warranty.
